I met Joe, SGM Special Forces, HALO, Jumpmaster, SCUBA, ... everything.. I mean everything.. in Grenada, 1985, on a Reserves, Civil Affairs mission. I fell hard. He had massive, life changing disability stroke 4 years later... and I married him... and to this day, love him with everything about me. I bring this up... Life is pain, hurt.. and out of it.. can come love.... For us, it did. I am 63 now, he is 78... Grenada changed our lives!

7 carribean nations called on the U.S. for help. Reagan kicked the ass of Socialists/communists, Soviets and Cubans in Grenada. Grenada still celebrates US invasion for being able to rid the communists from their coutry. The date of the U.S. invasion is a national holiday in Grenada called "Thanksgiving Day" and celebrated every year. Plus Grenada saluted Ronald Reagan on the stamps with his photo.

I watched this on ABC World News Tonight in '83 and Sam Donaldson asked Reagan how it felt to return to the scene of his greatest military triumph and Reagan said "Sam, I didn't fire a bullet'!

@@lindaeasley5606 Yeah right, that is why Grenadians named their Only International Airport Ronald Reagan Airport and still revered him fondly instead of Bishop. 🤣
@kanishenanigans2 жыл бұрын
@@exploreradverturer8396 Grenadians loved Bishop, and they loved Reagan. Bishop was loved by the staunch majority of Grenadians but he was killed/overthrown in a coup because he wanted to become closer with the west to prevent literally what happened, from happening. This made the communists mad, so they overthrew him and then killed him. This caused Operation Urgent Fury where the Grenadians widely supported the invasion and have since created a holiday called "Thanksgiving Day" which is about the US invasion and the fact they are thankful for it. Read up on history first.
