Tietie is confused. We are talking of dissolution of power to states and LGA, Tietie is still advocaing for concentration of power at the center. Development comes from the grassroots. Well, i disagree with this speaker. You can't be saying the Federal Govt should appropriate the savings from fuel subsidy across the states in a federal system of govt like Nigeria. Why should so much power be added to the federal govt when already they have too much than they should? Every state has it's unique needs and they shllould be allowed to go about it the way it will benefit their people. I also dont belief that using the formula of Abacha will help in a democracy. I think we should hold the state governors accountable because they were voted to govern their states with every resources coming to the states.

Lets me get this straight. Because those collecting 65% of resources have a history of profligacy they should be ignored but we must hold the one collecting 35% to account. Lawyer Tietie sense evades you. Common sense: Its fine to hold the governors accountable for their increased allocation but the president cannot avoid given policy direction and pushing the policies.

Another subsidy? Heaven forbid. It's not a good idea; we should always be moving forward. @precious-5016 Definitely, your brain is working backward. Yes. Federal government made policies. They removed subsidy, which was a fantastic decision. Please answer this question the allocation and increased that was shared and allocated to the 36 states and 774 local government is for what. To take it home? Right. Secondly, your brain is empty to know that in Nigeria, the president can NOT dictate to the state or any local government on how to spend their money. Just like saying that because Biden new economic policies are NOW a ticket , all the money and allocation to the 50 states should be taken home.

Is this ARISE guest aware of the type of development that Lagos state for example has witnessed since 1999 to date mostly driven by the successive state governors? If Lagos state and some very few others have sat back and waited for Federal government for development would they have witnessed the development? Is it wrong for the President to tell the governors that they are his partners in progress? That they have to utilise the money they receive as allocations to bring development closer to the grass root? Is this man saying the money the governors receive every month is for jamborees and that they do not have to do anything because all eyes are on the President only to turn things around? Is it too much for the President to appeal to the governors to invest in security in addition to what the FG is doing to boost security level in their state or to invest in agriculture to complement what the FG is doing to make food available to the populace? So if the state cannot foster development at their tier of government what magic do we expect from the federal government? I am tired of listening to politically motivated trash talking by most guests on this ARISE NEWS. Most of ARISE guests are political oppositions that present themselves as political or economic analysts and activists. ...and ARISE Tv journalists are doing a good business. They know what drives traffic and attracts viewers to their station - just be an opposition platform to the government of the most hated president in the political history of Nigeria. Look for people who will never say anything good about the president or the government. Look for ardent political enemies of the president and his government. That is what the oppositions and haters want. They love Rufai extreme criticism and show of hatred for the government while they hate Dr. Abati subtle and constructive approach and sometimes discribe him as a Tinubu government apologists. We know them before and during the 2023 election. In fact, they expect and pray that the government failed. They are those that embark on self deception that Tinubu did not win the 2023 election and that thier mandate was 'stolen'. With them as viewers and the type of guests ARISE brings in every day it is sure that the TV station always smiles to the bank.
