Each state already has its own department of education, each county of each state has a board of education. This is just taking one more middle man out of the loop who also tells you what you can and can't do and what monies can and can't be used for..or what monies MUST be used for and in some cases is totally ridiculous. Now we have high school students that are barely literate, math levels are equally atrocious and hardly any LIVING SKILLS are taught. I feel so badly for children in the red states. They are already so far behind the blue states. In no way will the blue states reduce the quality of their education systems. When my parents moved to an island(2nd home area) in se Georgia from western ny state, he actually lamented that how could the children get a great education on the taxes that he was paying.
