This is probably the latest you could possibly call a touch after passing, any later and McDowald would've had to make it a two piece action.

Disagree on this one. Fencer on the right missed the reposte. The halt should be called when the fencer leaves the strip or passes. The fencer on the right only started the final action well after where the halt should be called. Definitely no touch.

Definitely disagree. After FOTL has passed, FOTR turns around - and then pulls back his arm *before* straightening it for the extension that causes the single light. Two arm motions after the hit, fist bending and then extending the elbow joint.

I can see how you would make this call in real time - yet on replay it seems as if McDowall unsuccessfully attempted one reposte and what he hit on was actually a remise?

Everything that happens in front of McDowald doesn’t matter. He could miss ten times in front and it’s all good. Once Sanders passed, McDowald hit with one clean motion, one clean tempo.

@@The-Fencing-Coach does he have to begin the action when they're side-by side, or can he begin the hit right after the pass? Also what do you define as pass? two feet both past the 2 feet of the other fencer? or bodies past?

No touch... Right delayed before beginning the reprise of repost...
