I have been with Studio One since version 3. I agree with you. With version 7, Studio One can arguably claim title as the best all-around DAW, not only for features but for stability and ease of use. Very excited to see how it will evolve in the coming near future, especially with three-four big updates a year with their new developmental plan. Nice review.

6:20 - you can now loop clips on timeline, like in Live - just drag the bottom-right corner :)

Thanks for bringing that out, you are right, of course:) but for some reason I couldn’t extend loops dragged from Splice, it worked with loops dragged from library. but I guess it is a small bug of a pre-release version - I forgot to mention that.

I came back to Studio One after taking a break from it since Artist 4. IT HAS BLOWN MY MIND. Hopped right back in with my Atom controller and it was so intuitive.

We are pro tools and ableton users very interested in switching over - had a question if my brother and I get studio one can we collaborate on a session with a single license? Yes, you can cut, paste videos, edit audio and render the editied video with edited sound:)

you can assign any shortcut or midi cc to any loop launcher function, search cell on keyboard shortcut. i can start, stop, change the cell etc with my behringer keyboard

After detecting the tempo and dragging it to the tempo track is there a way to stretch and it to a fixed tempo.

Yes, of course. Definitely! Maybe I cut it in the editing, but actually it is enough to select all points and delete them and then you’ve got one straight line responsible for fixed tempo. Actually, it is a requirement for searching Splice samples you can only drop loops with fixed tempo.

Solid review. Has there been any improvement to the Jog wheel functionality in v7. I own a couple of Faderports, but in v6 I've only ever been able to achieve a lowest resolution of 1 bar forwards or backwards which is a real shame compared to using them in other DAWs. The interface looks a lots clearer which is nice.

Those comments makes me want to make more videos:) I had a S88 MK2 keyboard and with MK3 now it seems to work the same way so I guess you can just watch other videos with studio one 6 and kk mk2 to see how it works. I don’t have the video about MK3 yet;)

Amazing video 100% Thank you. I have just upgraded to V7. I have always had problems with using machine 2 in Studio one. I always wanted a bus channel with 16 tracks and be able to just record midi etc. I have never been able to properly achieve this properly. I don't suppose you have done a video on how to do this, or a S1 template/machine template with this in?

I did this experiment with recording 48 MIDI tracks from 3 VST instances of Maschine in 2019 and I don't know when I will find time to do it again. It may take me a few weeks, I probably will share it somehow, maybe a video, maybe Patreon. But I don't have this old projects. Thanks for motivation! Cheers!

Nice review. S17 is cool. Studio One user since version 4...moving to Reaper. For a number of reasons, but the ongoing poor utilization of computer CPUs compared to Reaper, Cubase, and ProTools has become too big of a "hit" for me. 28% worse than Reaper or Cubase, for example. I buy a new M4 Pro Mac mini...and right out of the box I sacrifice 28% of performance because of my choice in DAW?? Can't do it anymore. Sorry, for venting.

Do you have a subscription? I guess you should still be able to stay on subscription and update. Upgrade price of $149 is from what I understood only for those who have any previous perpetual version. Other than that, the price is $199.

While I absolutely love studio one for recording, The show page is abysmal compared to its competitors. Until they make it so the show page can send CC messages to external hardware for scene change then its just not worth it for live use.

Dear Sir, Instead of promoting for Personus 7 is better to tell them to FIX THE CRASHING THAT IS AFTER EVERY CLOSE OF A PROJECT & DURING QUIT STUDIOONE 7 TOO, SHAME ON THEM IS VERY NORMAL THYE BECAME MANAGED BY FENDER WICH ARE MORE BAD, FENDER NOW CAN'T EVEN MAKE GOOD BASSES & GUITARS & OTHER BASS MANUFACTURES ALREADY PASSED THEM MINLES AWAY, SO MY BIG CONGRATUALTION TO PRESONUS FOR THERE LATEST BUGY SOFTWARE, THANK YOU
