at 1:51 when you say our engineer have thought of that as well. You see the problem I have is... Obs only provides a two channel mix and where is on this mixer that has more than two channels how would want have the total control options such as for example... say for instance a person use vst, well vst instruments come out of the main 1 & 2 unless you have a fancy and or higher end interface, but for simplistic sake lets just say the vst audio had to come out of the main output which is 1 & 2. So lets say its only a songwriter composition and the person plays keys and sings, they won't have total control over the final mix inside of obs because remember the vst instruments is on both of those channels and so the mic will be on left side I believe so that's not total control over the final mix. I know this is asking out of the norm, but I just want to have total control over the final mix in which in this instance ... would be obs studio... To achieve this such things I was use two computers and three audio interfaces. I would like to share a one on one conversation on how this is done with you if your available...

Hi dtrelz, the AR Mixer will loopback anything that comes out of Studio One, or any other program virtually to input 1&2 via the Super Channel. Anything that comes into the analog Inputs 1&2 (e.g. a Microphone / Guitar) can still be panned and leveled independently from that directly on the Mixer. Meaning - You can level Studio One's / any Computer Audio with the level knob or fader on the ARc's Super Channel, and your analog signals can be leveled independently from that through the level knobs / faders on the ARc's Ins 1&2. So you do have total control in the example you've given. -GBY

Hi there, Just wanted to ask a couple of questions if anyone could offer some advice? This is a great video. I just ordered an AR8c to help me DJ live on Twitch but here are my questions:= When I press the USB "return" button to get the audio from my computer into the mixer will I also able to use the super channel at the same time to play "dj drops" from my ipad? Alternatively, would a better solution be for me to get a cable consisting of a 3.5mm stereo jack to two 6.35mm jack plugs and connect it to channels 3 & 4 on the mixer so I can control the individual gain of this input better? Finally. in the second scenario above what type of configuration of cable would be the best to give me a stereo signal so that the "pan" effect from left to right featured on some of my dj drops can be heard in stereo rather than just mono. Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks I'm very much looking forward to receiving my AR8c in the next 2-3 days :)

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for your setup. They have a hardware solution to the problem, the new AR8c, which returns Audio via USB (which an interface isn't supposed to do, classically). There DAW does neither allow for routing the signal as an audio source to OBS nor allows external plugins, which could do that. I spent way too many time on solving that problem, and to my demise, I wasn't able to in the end... I will probably by the AR8c in the future, because I think their stuff is very well made. Just a little restrictive.

Can OBS simply use Studio 1824 USB to pick up the audio? Does OBS have a setting to not livestream, but simply record a video one can post later? If not, is there a simple video and audio capture program that works with Studio One?
@presonus4 жыл бұрын
Hi Matthew, yes you can use the Studio 1824, that's a great choice for OBS also. The only thing I'd recommend you to do is get a digital coaxial (SPDIF) cable and connect it from the SPDIF Output of your Studio 1824 to the SPDIF Input. Then open up Universal Control, double click on your 1824 and configure which signals you want to record or stream on the SPDIF Output. All you have to do in OBS is assign the SPDIF Input as your Mic / Auxiliary Input, and you're good to go. OBS can also record btw, not just stream. :) It's the tab right next to the "Stream" tab. Since internet bandwidth is not a concern with offline recording, you can usually go for a higher bitrate than with streaming (try between 8000 and 16000 kbit for a start). Hope this helps! -GBY

But i also want to be able to stream music from youtube, spotify, etc at the same time, while also recording the computer audio into it's own channel is S1. Is this possible?

Why is it that when I activate PFL on mic line 1, it mutes my ST7/8 usb return? I still want to hear ST7/8 usb return

Thank you for the video.. Is it possible that Presonus could make a video on how to patch phone calls into a StudioLive 32 Series 3? I run a podcast and been looking for a way to take phone calls into my mixer. that would greatly help and be appreciated. thank you

I think the best workaround is using your cellphone, plug an irig to your phone and the output of the irig to an input channel in your console, that may work. If you need a tutorial for that I can make one, cheers.

Hi Gregor, thank you for this tutorial. I am new to live-streaming and have only been doing it for two months. I am using a PreSonus Studio 26C and OBS. For some reason when I plug my AT2020 mic into input one I only get left audio and when I put it in input two I only get audio from the right. I don't know and can't figure out how to get this in stereo using only one mic in input one or two. What am I doing wrong?

This is very similar to the problem I'm having. I hope we get a response! Tom

Hi, I see there is no way to adjust the line gain on stereo channels. Is it still suitable for obtaining proper volume with keyboards ? Because even with the +10 dB it’s far from the +35 dB that be achieved with mono channels. I’m a bit afraid that if my equipment have low output levels, I will never manage to get the same volume as the mono channels. Also I see that the previous models had adjustable gain on stereo channels. Maybe this new version has boosted stereo gain by default or a different circuit so we can achieve 0 dB on the main out, only by using the synth volume knob ? If that is not the case, then the design of the stereo inputs is a bit failed. This is the perfect mixer for my needs because of the 96 kHz interface and Bluetooth, Soundcraft is only 48 kHz. But the gain on stereo inputs, man ! Can you please give me your point of view and eventually test it for me ? Thank you !

Hi Alphacitrick, please keep in mind that pretty much all keyboards send either line level, or close to line level signals into the Mixer - thus, there should be no need whatsoever to amplify the keys input by more than +10dB. Also, please keep in mind that you can boost the Main Out for another +10dB should you really need to...but as I said - keyboard levels are MUCH higher than guitar or mic levels and thus shouldn't need to be amplified. :) -GBY

PreSonus Audio Electronics Thank you very much for clarifying ! My previous mixer had gain for stereo channels and I think when the knob was turned to its minimum, it was cutting the signal a bit, that’s why I needed to turn up the gain to like 10 or 11 o’clock to reach 0dB (no boost). I’m buying one, awesome product :) Wait another thing I’d like to know : If I mute a channel to remove it from the main, will the signal still be sent to the USB so I can use plugins in real time via the USB outputs without hearing the direct signal ? I’ve read the schematics and the AD converters are right after the preamps, I just want to be sure :) After that I’m good to go !

When streaming it is best to have an upload speed of 7Mbps or greater. Anything less and you'll have a very poor quality stream. Be mindful that just because you can stream at high bitrates doesn't mean your viewers can. In fact many people on lower grade systems and Internet speeds will experience higher buffering rates during live events. Also not everyone has 4K or 8K monitors some might not have anything better than 720P. Keep that in mind as well. Many streamers never think about this.

Hi great video : ) Can I use my StudioLive 16.0.4 to do the same thing? I am struggling to understand how to do it so far.
@presonus4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, try patching your Monitor Out or Main Out (whichever is available) to Inputs 1&2 on the StudioLive 16.0.4. Configure all of your required monitoring in Studio One and assign the SL 16.0.4 as your record input in OBS. Hope that helps! -GBY

Also I have an AR8. Old. Not the c version
@presonus4 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee, that's alright! The AR8 can be set up exactly the same way I'm showing in the video. Simply play something from iTunes or Spotify and sing along...Studio One is optional here. :) Just make sure that your music playback software is using the ARc mixer as sound output, and you're good to go. You can even add effects like Reverb etc. to your voice right from the mixer! -GBY

Why is my Studiolive 24 series III mixer not at 96 kHz?????? But the lower priced mixer is????? Huh Presonus???
@presonus4 жыл бұрын
Because the StudioLive Series III are digital mixers that come with tons of internal DSP effects which would eat up twice as much processing power when operating in 96khz. Besides, 96khz really isn't that important for most customers. -GBY
