What a great leader Eddie is. Honest, straightforward, empathetic to fans and players. His reaction to PSG: "We probably didn't deserve to win on a football basis but on an effort level it was disappointing not to..." Perfect.

So proud to have Eddie as our gaffer such a class act calm collected and a true professional. On the VAR I agree with Eddie you send a ref over to the monitor telling them they have missed something or got it wrong human nature will find something wrong or agree with what they are being told. For me send them over to the monitor to review it and ask the ref to sum up what they see not the other way around.

Shit end to a fantastic game on Tuesday, but I think I would rather be in our position than PSG's. They need to play away to Dortmund with a suspended Dembele and get a win to guarantee they go through. We need to play at home to Milan and get a win to give us a chance of going through. I would not have any hope in us going to Dortmund and getting a win. I have a reasonable expectation of us beating Milan at home. Dortmund have not lost at home to anyone other than Bayern Munich in the last year. PSG have lost all their away UCL games this year. They will be nervous, and Dortmund will be professional. If we turn up on the 13th then there's a very good chance we still go through.

Dortmund needs a point to guarantee they're top of the group. That's all we need from them if we beat Milan.
What you have is what Eddie did for us at Bournemouth. No one drives him more than he does. He wants to give you all 200% of what you all want but be careful. We saw a guy burnt out by the demands he put on himself. Don’t drive him too hard and burn him out. 10 years at 120% is better than 4 at 200%.

Watching the Rugby World Cup Final I witnessed how the ref , the linesmen and VAR worked as a team . One could hear how the discussions went and there was no players crowding around the ref demanding this or that and above all it’s only the captains who talk to the Ref. Of course with the latter we see that with the likes of Trippier so nothing new there.

All these other managers who use press conferences as platforms to advance agendas, stir up controversy, generate headlines, play mind games, sometimes it works, sometimes it backfires on them hilariously (like Arteta). But Eddie always plays it with a straight bat, doesn't say anything controversial and will rephrase "gotcha" questions to give a much more neutral, measured message in his answer. He's a coach, he wins games by coaching, and I think his team is stronger for avoiding all the silly mind games.

I'd like to see an analysis performed upon all the footage that was available to VAR, the different camera angles & back/forth graphics that could be created at the time to show the incident, in which someone would purposefully cherry pick only those angles which show the incident in a misleading light (ie, in this case, that it was a penalty) and then compare that footage to the footage that VAR actually did choose to show to the ref on the night for those fateful 7-10 seconds, to see if it corresponds and how closely. Then I'd like to see the odds calculated of that cherry picked footage being put forward at random, compared to all the other possible combinations of footage, most of which would not show the incident in a misleading light, that could've been shown to the ref to "help" him on the night. That'd be interesting. And would lead in interesting directions with regard to culpability. I don't blame the ref. I think he's the victim.
