It’s great that all these reporters only focused on the highest level, but NO ONE asked about how the state of play is in the youth environment with 50 “pay to play” “top level” leagues all trying to get parents to spend 10s of thousands of dollars to tap into the talent when in reality, the talent is there they just don’t necessarily have the funds to be seen. It’s time to fix the model and tap into the vast talent pool of every level! Not just show up at these new made up levels with kids who pay then end up like the Reynas cause their kid didn’t get minutes, while we have kids that quit playing cause they don’t see any pay off for their hard work. Yea not every kid can be a super star BUT can we get every kid a chance? Time for USSF to step back into youth development and start regulating things cause it’s out of control now.

FYI US soccer is rolling in cash. Plenty of $ to put into national youth programs. They just choose not to.

This is such an important cycle for the game in this country. Hope this Brit knows what he's doing, because Southampton not doing so great in the Prem this year.

I mean Southampton not doing well in the Prem shouldn't be seen as an indictment on Crocker, you have to have the players to succeed in the EPL, and that usually requires money from ownership to invest in the right players

To be able to tap into our diverse country we need to get rid of or drastically fix the pay to play!

The good: he is good at speaking, clearly knows his footy, has experience in the US, seems like a good dude. The way he spoke about legacy made me feel for the first time that if we don’t win the WC on 2026, there may still be a chance to see the US host the trophy in my lifetime. The questionable: his repeated mentioning of the mls like a forced product placement makes it feel like someone invested in mls has a collar on him. His mentioning that his No. 1 priority is making soccer the most popular sport in the US doesn’t help. The enemy isn’t basketball or American football; it’s the status quo and backwards US soccer system.

US Soccer= Pointless waste of time. They do nothing for vast majority the talented players and coaches in the country. Egos, money and power will always be the priority for these folks. They play in no competitive competitions and play pointless b/c teams in overhyped friendlies to inflate win %’s. This poor guy is here to NOT rock the Boat.

@@Party_Burger Then he proceeded to start the biggest media shitstorm and controversy in US Soccer history while alienating one of his best players during a forum on leadership (granted his parents are dickheads), so good riddance. We need to look past Mexico if we want to get anywhere. They're terrible, so always comparing ourselves to them is weak. To get anywhere in 2026, we need to beat either France, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Croatia, Netherlands, etc, and Gregg won't be able to do that. Dual nats was the ONLY thing he was good at.
