Tip for you. Ive been cooking with pressure cookers for 10 years and have learnt from my mother who also has used them my entire life. Placing the pot in a bath of cold water is not the safest method. You could tell your cooker still had lots of pressure. You should RUN it in under cold water until you see your lid drop. This means all pressure is gone and will work much faster. Sitting it a bath of water in your sink will just turn the water warm very quickly and not work.
