You Need to See This..! I will be doing an explainer video next on this "Critical Move" to help you to understand what Pete Cowen means by "Pressure Down" and "Arm Pressure" so you can deliver the club on plane and turn your hips easier the correct way, PLEASE LIKE & SHARE IT TO EVERY GOLFER as this move is not talked about correctly and is completely misunderstood.
Check out my last video where I am talking about this move Pete is describing and how it helps :-)
• "Tour Secret" [Transit...
If you haven't already watched part 1 and 2 of the Transition video series you need to check it out here..! it all relates to Pete's teachings.
Part 1
• First Move Down + 3 Bo...
Part 2
• Final [CRITICAL] Part ...
There has been to much focus on body rotation which has been ruining golf swing for many years now. DON'T FORET ABOUT YOUR HANDS, ARMS & CLUB..! THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR BALL STRIKING FOREVER..! Not only do I have good sources of information but I have applied this to my own swing over the past year with amazing results. Watch These Bonus Video Links Below 👇👇👇 It all makes complete sense..!
This is the correct way to transition because I can "FEEL IT" just like when I used to strike the ball this well with this same move many years ago, before I started getting too focused on body rotation, separation and trying to get my hips open, just like you are trying to do right now with zero success and no consistency.
If you are trying to focus on getting open with your body DONT FORGET the Club, Hands and Arms have got a long way to travel down to sync up with your body. The more you try and and get open the more it forces your body too far out in front of your club, hands and arms.. so they cant work through the ball together which is why you sometimes feel flippy and compensate.
The rotation element of the golf swing will throw you over the top and force you to thrust your hips towards the ball (Early Extension) if you dont do this CRITICAL move in your swing described in this video.
Throwing the football down forces pressure down through your legs and ground, activating your legs and hips. Your body will then naturally / instinctively respond to the swing by turning out of the way rather than you consciously trying to turn. If you stay in AWARNESS of your body and what it is doing without interfering with your "Central Nervous System" AKA BRAIN, you can learn to tap into completely different way of swinging without thinking, just FEELING & AWARNESS is the key 🗝️
If you want to feel the correct moves and time them to perfection, I would strongly suggest picking up a GForce Swing Trainer, you get instant feedback from the shaft if your timing is out and the ball flight + they are now the same weight as your regular golf club for quicker and easier calibration from swing training to regular club & USGA approved, our best version yet :-)
[Any training aids claiming to be similar to GFORCE are much heavier and will destroy your timing, it requires a different force to swing a heavy club v's a regular weight club, so it would be like learning 2 completely different golf swings]
Pick one up from my store here, you also get email support and ask for help if you need it :-)
www.gforcegolf...
Rory's McIlroy's drill to get the arms and club down into correct delivery position, they have a long way to travel so need to sync up with the body otherwise body gets too far ahead and compensations kick in.

• Rory McIlroy Golf Swin...
Same here with Linn Grant LPGA, watch how the arms and club come down to sync up with the body, this is an amazing downswing and shows how the club, hands and arms need to accelerate down to sync up with the body.

Same here. There’s an epic video of him on here that’s about 10 minutes long. He’s hanging out at a range, talking to 10-12 guys. He explains his entire thesis of the gold swing. One of the things he said that resonates with me is, “We manage the mass of the club, so it’s useful.” Keeping the club in balance, so you can use natural forces. To me, he’s the best coach out there. I’ll look for the link and post it here.

The answer is how your brain works : You have an intentended motion, let's say "arms down and around" and your brain figures out the firing pattern for ALL the muscles need to perform the intention. Conciously you don't use the hips, but they DO move first - so seeing something on video doesn't tell you what intention caused that motion! Your arms don't need to move for your hips to turn! But anatomically it is impossible to move the arms hitting a golf ball as Pete describes without the hips getting out of the way - but you don't need to have "hips" as intention, just arms - or hands for that matter. Hope that helped!

I watched the Danny Maude video and I felt like the boy who said “ the Emperor has no clothes” admittedly the video was an edit but I couldn’t comprehend what he was trying to explain. Pete can hit every short game shot but his explanation of how he’s doing it ( in the limited clips I’ve seen) don’t make sense on their own. He’s big on Pressure but there has to be a better way of trying to explain his “feeling” that the explanation given in these clips. I also think the students are so intimidated by his stature in the game they are afraid to ask any questions.

@@ulster7717 agree with what you are saying, but what you dont see in the short amount of videos on KZbin is that Pete eventually leads his students to the answer, that is what the best coaches do in any sport. You will never see him just giving the answer away, it doesn't work that way you have to find the answer yourself. He wont hand over 50 years of knowledge in a quick lesson to anybody, I know that from spending some time with him and having numerous phone calls. I dont think students are intimidated, they are just trying to figure it out, it took me some time to figure it out so hopefully the last few transition videos will help you understand more of his teachings. In inner game coaching I can see the benefits of the student finding answers for themselves but in technical coaching , when watching as a third party, I find it very frustrating. I’m actually very surprised that Pete is sharing anything with others that he knows will be broadcast to 1000s given how protective he is of his hard acquired knowledge. I’ll agree to disagree. Malaska talks about his move getting the club on plane by slight manipulation of the hands. Pete’s overarching thesis of the golf swing is pressure, and no manipulation. Malaska’s is about moving the hands/arms, Pete’s is about moving the body (arms, hips, etc) using downward pressure. Two different schools of thought. That’s my take on it. Cheers

@@frankmollegaard1989 as long as you lower your body before you pull the chain "Smoothly" in transition, then accelerate it down, dont yank it..! Slow the speed down to .25 and watch his last swing at 1:27....he doesn't move his hips "down" at all, like Cowen is telling him to. Everyone thinks when they practice something new it is happening in the swing, it isn't. You're body during that one second it takes to swing a club is still going to swing it the same way it always has. There are no "secret moves".....your muscle memory is set in stone if you've played several rounds of golf. But teachers love taking your money. Ask yourself this question....If there are real "secrets" to this game, they why are there more teachers now, than ever?

Hi Eddie, maybe Hideki isn't doing it correctly yet.? :-) Like Cowen says in the video it takes time and reps. What Cowen is describing is actually happening, but it is difficult to see with the naked eye which most golf instruction is based around unfortunately, that is why I am a small handful of coaches in the world that use Gears 3D to give accurate instruction. Have a look at this video I did using Gears to analyse the average tour player model taken from 100's of players, it clearly shows the lowering Cowen is describing in the video, thanks kzbin.info/www/bejne/anKQY2tjoNaJi5o

The pressure isnt downward until close to impact. If you are pressing down early in the backswing there is a thing called "early extension". If you press down the ground pushes back so if you push down you go up! Im thinking this video left out some key details.
@gforcegolf
@gforcegolf Жыл бұрын
Your right about the ground pushing back but disagree with your comment. If you did not lower you would fall over or compensate in other ways to hit the ball. You have to lower to push your hips backwards which prevents early extension. @@gforcegolf this is why I no longer research this swing online. There are only two or three coaches that I actually appreciate their information. The issue that I have is the majority of you talk about effects and not causes. So his hips doing that is not a Cause of power it's an effect from what he's doing with the ground. Yet what exactly is he doing with the ground? What is the cause? How do I do it? How does it translate outside of theory? The majority of online "instruction" is more about swing theory than actual instruction. All you were telling me is what he's doing and nothing about how to do it. That's not instruction that's relaying information. Imagine I'm teaching you to be a train conductor and all I do is tell you what the train conductor is doing but not how to do it at all. @@garrymajor7528 Garry-I went and looked at several of Marcus’s videos-his stuff looks really good. I especially liked the one about “this is key” video where he talks about unfolding the arm-unfold the elbow straight down-while the body rotates-vertical versus rotary-and he goes on to say how difficult this is. Amen to that this has been the bane of my golf swing for years now. What’s really interesting is this guidance is exactly what Pete Cowen teaches. I have over the past year or so started to read everything I can find of Cowen’s-and I got an older DVD of his-and have had some real breakthroughs (when I can overcome my well ingrained tendencies from years of hitting balls the wrong way and expensive and marginal instruction along the way). Cowen is hard-because he has held his instructional principals very close to his vest for years-and you have to really pay attention and untangle the message he is delivering-but as he has gotten older-he is starting to open up more-I presumably to establish a record of his principals and methods-and often releasing more details through other instructors like Maude and this GForce guy-and he even gave an instructor a full swing lesson a couple months ago-and it’s on the guys You Tube site. In any event I am not sure if Marcus’s ideas will work for me-will find out more today-but his approach and observations make really good sense and he explains them in a very straightforward and understandable fashion. Thanks for sharing his name-I had never heard of him. I haven’t heard anything back on the original question. I did look at a couple of Marcus’s driver videos-which describes a very different way to look at the driver swing-so might give that a whirl as well this week.

Check out this video where I analyse a tour player doing exactly what Pete is describing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anKQY2tjoNaJi5o Players need to lose height to balance out the forces generated in the swing otherwise they would get pulled over, also losing height or compressing the body downwards pushes your tailbone backwards out of the way (prevents early extension) creating more room for the arms and club, and it also has a big influence on how you turn through correctly and efficiently.
