I did clean the splatter shield with dawn foam soap earlier that day. Mine has really bad stuck on grease and everything else I've heard doesn't help. The fan is looking burnt too and I've had it lass than a year. I also asked on the group I think.

Lisa, I love your down to earth videos. Which method makes the best whole roasted chicken, ninja grill or ninja foodi with just crisper lid or ninja foodi pressure and crisper combo? The chicken in your crisper only video looked the best but it looked easier in the grill due to the extra room; I just didn't like that it was cooking in its own juice/grease. I would like to know which way was the most tender, juicy, and crispy like a real rotisserie chicken. Thank you for your help and guidance.
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
Lol-my nephew said the same thing yesterday-that he doesn't like the chicken to. sit in its own juices. In the Grill that will be difficult due tot he height issue-you will have to pick up a very small. bird/cornish hen so. it docent sit in the juices. I may have to pick one up and experiment a little. My preference is to roast the chicken they are moist and its the "traditional way" to cook chicken. Pressure cooking chicken changes the. consistency/mouth feels,of the meat(remember this is just my preference). To obtain that juicy bird. most important is to not overcook it-which is sometimes difficult due to the breast. meat cooking. before the. thigh area. But another trick is to brine the bird-I wanted to do a comparison video on a. brined bird vs a traditional roasted bird. Definitely more room in the foodi to roast a chicken. Oh there is another way which I haven't tried yet is spatchcocking the chicken-cut. the backbone out and flatten the. chicken out. I hope this helps Peter
@Shark-at-Law4 жыл бұрын
@@pressurecrisp Lisa, thank you for the quick reply. I am sorry but still a bit unclear. In your reply you state definitely more room in the foodi, however, in your videos it definitely looked like the grill had way more space. Did you mean to say grii? In addition, you said in your reply that roasting is the best method, however, in both the grill video and the foodi video you cooked the chicken in air crisp mode and not roast. I am assuming that you wanted to say air crisp, however, both the grill and the foodi have air crisp mode. Which of the two did a better job in air crisp mode, the grill or the foodi? Again, thank you very much for all your help and guidance, it is very much appreciated. Peter.
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
@@Shark-at-Law sorry-I meant to say air crisp. When I said the foodi has more room I meant height. You are able to cook a larger chicken in the foodi than in the grill due to the height. I do plan on brining a chicken this week to see if there is a difference in moistness. Or I may use the split chicken breast I have in frig. I will do two using the brine and two no brine.

Hi Rob, I think the settings are all. the same and that the different functions have different temperatures. butI'm not sure. I don't hear a. difference in fan speed but this is just my thoughts. I have cooked wings on air crisp and. roast and the. same with roast beefs-roast and bake and there really is not difference that I can tell. Hope this helps RobP!

It looked as good as if you did a rotisserie or bought it. It seems a natural next step to toss some flour and milk into that pan and make gravy from those drippings. Even some instant mashed potatoes would soak that up successfully. On the other hand, that and tailgating on the interstate seem to be the sure ways of shortening your life. Maybe some things are best wiped out with paper towels and tossed.

@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
Its a difficult decision. If you have an iInstant pot I would say to get thee grill. Think about what you cook the most and how many people-pasta? steaks/meat? Will you pressure cook more for air crisp? I enjoy having both I cook the protein in the grill and sides in the ninja foodi. Or I make complete meals in the NFGrill. Instant pot can be purchased for around 60.00 this time of year. The grill 150.00. Shop around, watch videos, join some Facebook groups. Thanks Stogie Luva!

Hey, just a tip. Cover the bird in yellow mustard helps it brown and crisp up too! BTW, I really enjoy your videos! :)

Drop the temp down to 330 degrees. You will get excellent results and it won’t char which appears to happen most of the time and I see the Contributors have happen. Be more patient. It’s worth waiting a little longer and getting a better result.

How come it is air crisp and not roast ?
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
You can use roast or air. crisp-I personally. don't think there is the much. of s difference-I hear no difference in fan speed-like I do with the newer XL Grill and XL Oven. But like I said just my opinion and go ahead and use roast. Thanks Daniel!

Can you cook a 7 pound chicken????
@eylkrn4 жыл бұрын
Hi. I did it yesterday for some reason had a lot of pink area in the bird(i.e not cock well) .. I had to put it in the Oven for 15 minutes at 220celsious to mitigate. Question-What did I do wrong in the Ninja grill? How do I know if I should increase the time more than 1 hour? Thanks

In addition, I used 170 c instead of 350f. Is it ok?
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
Definitely if. your bird is larger-continue to cook it in the grill. if it is getting too dark in color you can turn the bird over to. continue cooking it. You didn't do anything wrong-just cook it longer in the grill. Thanks eylkrn!

170C if fine just had to convert it lol. 338F may take longer too cook but you can definitely use this. temp.

yes mine came out great, but i seem to have gotten a false reading from my temping. i had like a 160 reading but i should have known better because it was a 6 lb. chicken and i pulled it at about 1 hr. the breast were beautiful, but the thigh needed about 15 additional minutes.
@pressurecrisp5 жыл бұрын
Sometimes its hard to get an accurate reading on a whole chicken-they say to take a temp in the thigh area but this sometimes difficult. I usually take multiple temps around the thigh area. And probably should have said this or showed it. In the future I will go over/show how to take a temp-in multiple areas of the thigh. Thanks james mcquay!

One thing you forgot to do was to use a Sharp Knife and cut out the Collar Bone (Wishbone) before cooking. When you remove that you can cut the breast down the front which is impossible with it left in place because the bone will prevent you from cutting the meat. Great videos and so informative as always though. 😊
@pressurecrisp4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrew will do that next time! Thanks! and I do need my. knife sharpened-for got to bring a steel too. But found a local knife sharpening shop here in Vegas and will get it sharpened. Thanks Andrew!
