The moments where Areo Hotah was thinking back to his fight with Aerys Oakheart and the spars with Balon Swann were my favorite parts. Also the part where Obara came in fighting and Areo Hotah looking at his axe contemplating what he wanted to do. Everyone is doing such a great job on this project, cant wait to see if there is any fanart!

Did not expect that to be now amongst my top 20 song of ice and fire chapters. The sand snakes fighting tactic of completely ignoring the harm of the blunted edge was the type of badassery the sand snakes have been lifted up to, but something we have yet to see. I assume her smile at the slash was the hint that he would have died a very slow and painful death regardless of the fight's outcome. Also, thanks for not making Areo an invincible Selmy clone, and giving Swan some personality and degree of focus before his murder. Maybe a little too close to GRRM.

Agree, the Dany chapter was a bit fanfictiony for me (Greatly written fanfiction, but still) and while this started off with the same feeling, it very quickly became incredibly well written dialogue with snippets about past happenings that could come to be interpreted as foreshadowing, as we all know and love from Martin's books. Great chapter

This was truly excellent and a big step up from the Daenerys chapter, which was already great. The pacing really felt like AFFC/ADwD and it was so cool how you included minor characters from the previous books like Janos Slynt's sons and the Scrapesword. Also I had to smile at the part where someone suggested the Ullers should have sent a fake skull back to Aegon. I see what you did there Preston. I was kind of at the edge of my seat there during that final battle. I thought it was a good decision for Hotah not to go against his orders… yet. I can see the seeds you‘re planning for him to become self-actualized. Will we eventually get a chapter titled "Areo"? Oh, and I'm curious to see where you are going with the whole Rosamund idea. Obviously there where quite a few hints in this chapter that some sort of swap occurred. Listening to the chapters feels like great payoff for watching all of your videos, I must say. Even if in the end you ended up being probably wrong about half of this when it comes to the canon, at least we'll have our own version of the story with your theories coming to fruition. Oh man, now I really can't wait until we get a Quentyn chapter :P

The Mountain skull is a natural reference, but its also a Myrcella-Rosamund swap reference. And naturally the whole scene mirrors Quentyn's decent into the dragon pit and Theon's descent into the crypts where there is a missing sword. The crypts also being where the Winter Rose took place, which is the same story as Ulwyk's Rhaenys story.

I like the idea of this arc, Areo starting to lose faith in Doran - perhaps forcing him to be a bit more of his own man, if that is even possible. I have not read it, but heard there is a similar arc in Dune, for one of Paul's staunchest followers

It's been years since I read Dune but iirc that story is a little more complicated. It's less about the follower starting off blindly obedient and growing away from that, and more about Paul and his family being over-attached to him and dealing with that feeling.

I do like the Rhaenys-Uller insinuation: its sufficiently ambiguous and a good payoff ties together Uller personality, rumors of Rhaenys' survival and Oberyn's interest in Ellaria really well... though naive me thought Oberyn&Ellaria was just a simple love match and was crushed to realize that this is grrm, and nothing is simple, so yeah - there's probably more to it. I've heard a lot of fan theories about the fate of Rhaenys: she died on impact; she chose to stay in Dorne cuz the climate was nicer; she was tortured into confessing that Aegon was sterile and Aenys was fathered by one of her singers (and that was in the letter Aegon received); she was being tortured and for peace the Ullers would end her suffering; she had been tortured to death and the Dornish had brought her bones covertly to Dragonstone (that was in the letter Aegon received), where Aegon could burn them and get closure away from the anti-Dornish Court. I do like your theory the best. Though I thought we were gonna get some dazzling Dayne revelations in this chapter???

Even more than the daenerys chapter, this feels like IT could fit with the chapters written by George. This is a really good chapter. I am really curious on what happens next with the sand snakes. Obara seems a revenge thirsty hot head and no doubt she is, but I want to know how do her actions fit into dorans master plan or maybe a different plan devised by the sand snakes.

Ooooooooooooooooh that was a good one. Excellent ending but just going back to the Hellholt part - that was just very tastefully put together, it had history, the characters felt real and the implication of horror was totally on the mark there. Also felt like it matched with the overall theme of the saga. Areo's careful interactions with opposition guards but also seemed his view on their entire retinue was really just all being men following orders. Serving and Obeying. Ya know, ref broken man speech and all that.
