Their first album, signed by all four band members, is one of the most prized pieces of my vinyl collection. Hard to believe it has been almost 40 years since James and Pete's passing. Listening to it makes me think what could've been.

Congrats, I never gave the Pretenders much of my attention because I was in the 6th grade when their debut album came out. Listened to it in it's entirety last week for the first time. Wow, the entire album is fire. I can't stop listening.

Chrissie came down off the stage at the Warfield theater in San Francisco 1981 and sat in my boyfriend's lap..record factory bought out the whole first row..my boyfriend and I were both D.J.s on our local radio stations..along with radio alumni in the seats .. no cameras aloud..but the concert is etched I'm my heart and soul forever ❤️

Politically true: a "burned out speed freak" made for a great Player. After she Fired Pete, an ex-lover, he was staring at her throughout the entire funeral to say 'I'M fired but here we are now‽ I see.'🤔🥀 There was no better Band as they were coming up through '82.

Can sometimes be said the first incarnation of a band is the best. I think that applies to the Pretenders with Honeyman Scott and Farndon. Their punk roots showed early on, then they seemed to become more mainstream.

One of my fave all-time bands. Saw the original line-up at a college a few weeks before the first album broke, almost no one there. A few weeks later in the same city, larger venue sold out, with a mob outside trying to get in!

It's still going strong too Willie Nelson is coming this year with the family at age 90 believe it or not in 2024 Natalie merchant's going to be out there social distortion it's still a very successful venue many people like to play away from LA. You can fly right into LAX and hop a puddle jumper straight on a cross over to SB

Had not known this track before, maybe B side but anything from them is a nice little treasure. If I listen again will grow on me. Not 100% but looks like the "Bowl" in Santa Barbara. Thought I saw Milpas street exit in video. Lovely experience for the band at the time, and the fans to be there! SB has great memories for me too, I try to go there several times a year.

chrissie thanx for everything, i grew up in northern ohio and hung in akron as well, you redeem us every day we hear your music, northern ohio has fucked a lot of stuff up but luckily you help redeem us...absolutely love chrissie hynde... back when i was in college in the 80s chrissie's brother played i think in the numbers band, 156075, which played in our local scene, so the rock pedigree runs deep ,,,the numbers band was serious music, soul music from 1960 to 1975 and they did not screw around!!!!
