This is my GF's bike I got to test, what model TBI do you think I should get? I cant decide
@BAYAREAMX Жыл бұрын
I want you to get an XC but for what you ride, the xcw is the way to go. Better stator for fan and lights, no linkage to destroy or get hung up when you’re smashing into rocks and smoother power. I’d say a remap and maybe a head and you’re dialed!
@BehindBarsEnduro Жыл бұрын
I tried a Husqvarna TE300 TBI -- which should run like the EXC/XC-W models -- yesterday and it's mapped waaaaaay too soft in my opinion. If we got the XC models here in Europe I'd probably be looking at that, but for now we only get the EXC and SX for two strokes.
@TrailBoundco Жыл бұрын
@@BehindBarsEnduro I've always wondered why you guys cant get the XC models I believe it's only USA and AUS. problem with the XC is its mapped way to much so I guess either way gonna get a TSP running on it
@BehindBarsEnduro Жыл бұрын
@@TrailBoundco Yeah I’m guessing it’s about environmental regulations. We seem to get a few 125 XC, but that’s about it. What’s your opinion on the feeling of the weight on this bike? I find that my bike, a -19 TPI, could drop a few kilos. And the generation after that one feels spot on to me. The TBI generation almost feels too light to me. 😬 Perhaps a heavier fly wheel and mouses would fix that.
@WASemiHardEnduro Жыл бұрын
Seems like the TE would be the best choice - I prefer the linkage myself, it sits a bit lower (tho the PDS keeps improving each year). Maybe throw on a med-comp head if you want more snap off the bottom.

I rode one yesterday with the sag not set as well and I also found it tall. I think once the sag is set it will feel a lot better in terms of ride height, I'm the same weight as you.

Thanks man, I had the same exact thoughts. I went with the TX 300. Great height and ergo
@avz466 ай бұрын
I bought the 24 TE300pro and have ridden the 24TX300 and found the tx to be too jumpy on slippery turns where is the te is smoother and easier to maintain traction. The TX is significantly louder so dont let the quiet TE/XCW exhaust fool you with where the bike is with the RPM and power curve. You do have to twist the throttle more if you want to apply more power. It is like the first half of the throttle is really dumbed down, but over half really jumps to life just fine. The TE/XCW pulls really well and controlled at really low rpm without spinning out much.

Just curious, how tall are you? Im 5’10” been running for about a year and a half on a KX250F motor cross bike beating my self up on the trails but I want to move to a trail bike. I feel like the hight of the bike might have set me back a little but just curious.

New models are great. Get the HUSQ TE300 2024. Stock, it's lower than the KTM bike (almost 2cm) so it's better for shorter riders. You can also add low seat on it. IMO, husky looks better. Wish I could ride where you are riding, crazy cool trails! Greetings from Norway ✊🏻 Enjoy!

where did you see that its shorter? I've been trying to get photos of the 24 xc, xcw and ec to see if the linkage bikes are lower but it doesnt really seem like they are. the older model linkage bikes were always much shorter than the pds bikes though

My last 2T was a 17 XCW 300 and I did do the SX300 head and cdi. Kept the head and went back to stock cdi as it started better and ran really nice down low. Will probably do the same to my TE300pro, just bump up compression a little.

From the KTM website it looks like the seat height on the xcw is approx 10 mm taller than the xc. I think you’re supposed to setup the PDS with 10 mm more sag though (110 mm on the xcw as opposed to 100 mm on the xc). So the seat height difference should more or less cancel out once you set rider sag shouldn’t it?

could you link me to the seat height for the 24xcw? I'm only seeing that spec mentioned in the XC page for some reason www.ktm.com/en-us/models/enduro/2-stroke/ktm-300-xc-w-2024.html www.ktm.com/en-us/models/cross-country/2-stroke/ktm-300-xc-2024.html

The whole throttle thing is weird. When I ride my friends fuel injected KTM’s, they’re all the same with that soft initial pickup. Not crispy.
