They managed to fit in so much content in the space of one year with interviews with big stars at the premiere, several live music performances, movie clips and backstage interviews. They did a great job with promoting this movie with this premiere party and MTV program within only one hour. Also love the 80s commercials.

"If You Leave" was written and recorded in less than one day and is now considered one of the defining songs of the 1980s. Extraordinary. John Hughes had changed the ending of the film and didn't want to use the song OMD had written for the original ending. OMD only found out days before they were scheduled to go on tour.

Don't remember the Rave-Ups...the song was awful. Loved the Pretty in Pink performance and seeing a young slightly intoxicated James Spader. Thanks for posting, it was a fun watch.
