Now the part that I want to thank you for is A; your videos have made me calm in emergency situation and B:I had my catch kit close to hand all in one place and the tool that i used was the bottle arboreal catching cup you showed us :)

Omg that intro 😂😂😂😂 because of you I saved a beautiful jumping spider this weekend!!! Usually I would have just vacuumed it up because i was terrified of them but im slowly trying to handle spiders around my house. I'm assuming the one I saved this weekend was a female because of how big it was. I used my own makeshift catch up and I used a paper just like you have! I wish I could upload pictures of it here but oh well!Thank you for all the information you've given me. Loved the video! :)
@cottonmouthxx78286 жыл бұрын
Sarah Jumping spiders are the only ones I never been truly afraid of myself because of them being such unique spiders! They're super cool imo :) ...now to not be scared of the house and wolf spiders anymore LOL
@XxLoNgLoStWoLfxX6 жыл бұрын
Cottonmouthxx I think they're really cool... now lol. I always knew they were super intelligent and would think about their next move(because they always look around!), I just never realised to what extent. I did my research on them and now I love them! I would love to catch and keep one one of these days. Wolf spiders are still scary to me lol, theyre just too fast. If I saw one in my house tho I would definitely catch it and let it go. I just dont think I could hold it yet
@cottonmouthxx78286 жыл бұрын
Sarah yeah they're lightning fast! It really seems with me, the fuzzier they are, the more likely I am to be able to warm up to them, hence why I been on such a T binge the last 2 or 3 months! I absolutely love how inquisitive jumping spider's are, they actually look directly at you and what not! There is a super cool KZbin channel called Phidippus Project I highly recommend, the way the guy handles and interacts with his jumping spideys is super cute! Also... Lucas The Spider, too cute! Ahh!

I think it was a little over a year ago. I was cleaning my house and the windows had a lot of cobwebs in them so instead of trying to scrub up the mess, I vacuumed them up. I didn't see any spiders in there when I was cleaning, but I could be wrong. My daughter came in and asked me what I was doing and I told her "Collecting spiders to put in your bed." She didn't think it was as funny as I did. She was kind of afraid of them. Well a few weeks ago she talked me into getting our first T and last weekend we brought home a juvenile A. Seemanni. I'm really enjoying it a lot so far. So relaxed and fun to watch, but it isn't burrowing nearly as much as everyone said this species does. Maybe he/she heard me complaining at the shop worried I wouldn't see it very much or maybe the substrate isn't deep enough, I don't know...
@philconti19455 жыл бұрын
please do more videos like this, i love the general care sheets for species i might want. You are super knowledgeable and inspire a ton of people to get tarantulas. Its nice hearing care tips for specific genesis
@nflpro966 жыл бұрын
Avics and their formers actually do better in larger enclosures as slings, sub looks way too moist in your vials as well. In combination with low vent, this can be fatal for your slings...most experienced keepers recommend keeping the sub dryer. instead, you can occasionally dribble some water on their webbing for drinking opportunities. Larger enclosures, predominantly dry sub and a water dish is the best you can do with these guys. Live plants are a bad idea as well cause of their need for light and constant watering, avics really dont need the ''extra humidity'' as you said...moist sub should generally be avoided, this has killed more avics then anything else. Very nice looking display enclosure though man, cheers!
@RaeM.C832 жыл бұрын
I'd like to see how you keep yours?? You seem pretty knowledgeable, or at least believe to be. I feel that the Dark Den is quite intelligent and keeping many creatures of all kinds. Not once have I felt that any of his animals are in need of anything, but please, show us yours so we can compare??

Thats such a beautiful spider. I love the color and her new home is awesome.
@sammckee28366 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to disagree with you went it come to caring for Avics/ex Avics. They should be kept dry. Having moist enclosures is the reason why the term SADS (Sudden Avic Death Syndrome) became a thing. It was because a lot of hobbyists were keeping their Avicularias in moist, stuffy enclosures while in the wild, Avics/ex Avics live high up in trees where any rain/moisture dries up quickly and the air is constantly being circulated. I know you said keep the enclosure slightly moist, but most beginners looking at this video are probably going to become obsessive when it comes to moisture/humidity numbers, thus leading to their tarantula dying of “SADS.” I do love how that enclosure looks though!

I love my caribena versicolor! I named her “Fluffy.” The name seems to help people freak out a little less when I talk about her. I was arachnophobic for 40+ years. Decided to work on my fears and eventually kept several phidippus regius, then 2 years ago, I took the plunge and bought Fluffy. I do handle her quite often. (She tolerates me quite well). She definitely does projectile-poop a lot, and she does jump if she wants to. I guess I’m effectively over my arachnophobia! I changed my fear to fascination. Your channel has been quite helpful! Thank you for making such awesome videos! ❤️🕷😊
