Thank you so much for this. I’m developing a plan for the front and N,N/W side of my house. I have a 1 level red brick ranch, I think the Forever Goldie Arborvitae may be a super tree for the corners, love how it looks. Very useful video.

Just found your channel! I am a fairly new gardener and my house is on a 1/3 acre so I need small trees. I am working on adding a touch of formality and winter interest to my backyard. I will be watching your other videos for tips and ideas!

Helpful Video, Thank You! I'm in Zone 11, which limits my usage of Cypress, my favorite. So I tried Podocarpus which I'm really Happy with!

Hey there, what else would you recommend beside the pencil point juniper to place by the front door? I’m looking for something no wider than 2 foot and no taller than 8 foot. It’s sort of on the south west side of my house so early morning shade, but it does get some hot afternoon sun for about three hours.

Very informative, thank you! I’m growing a volunteer birch in a container. It’s about 4 ft tall. Not sure of the variety, maybe River birch? Planning to keep it in a container with hopes of keeping it small. Any thoughts?

Are ant of these trees native? As in are they beneficial to wildlife? I'm guessing the maple isn't, thx

What about deer resistance?
@PrettyPurpleDoor2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, while I have several of these trees I have a fenced yard so no deer issues. You'll just have to research the tree you liked and check it out. The only ones I'm sure of are green giant arborvitae = fairly deer resistant and emerald green arborvitae is definitely NOT deer resistant.

Sky pencil holly gets 2 feet wide... That's too large for your yard?? Pencil point juniper is 1 foot wide. Come on!? Do you have a yard at all?

well done video, but really, the trees mentioned are quite wide and very tall. These are not small trees.

Maybe you need a large shrub. These suggestions are small for trees
@Lisette7776 ай бұрын
@@sherryhudson9075 So I have learned! Lol! I am new at gardening, and I think what I was visualizing in the title of this video was ornamental trees...! Live and learn! Thanks for your suggestion. I am now looking into both ornamentals and large shrubs. 😊

I live in PA so unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon. Although if you see a plant you like on one of these General lists you can always Google the plant or tree and see if it is a candidate for growing in Arizona 😊
