I remember being TERRIFIED as a kid, sneaking around a house in-game and suddenly hearing creepy breathing coming from somewhere close by. I paused and had to turn the game off, as I was convinced some mutant maniac was creeping up behind me. Years later I learned that CJ makes that breathing sound when 'stealthed' in shadowy spots. Felt like a huge dumbass years after the fact.

His stomach growls quite loudly when he hasn't eaten in a while. Apparently, that scared a lot of Bigfoot hunters who would spend hours searching for him, only for CJ to go hungry. They thought that growl was from the Bigfoot himself.

I remember reading about the ghost cars and shitting myself when I went to see them and they started rolling down the hill without a driver. @christiancinnabars14024 ай бұрын
@koolaid33 The spawners themselves aren't accidental; random abandoned cars are left in the middle of nowhere on purpose by the devs so players don't have to trek for miles back if their own car happens to get destroyed or if they happen to walk out that far without a car. It's their placement on a hill that causes movement that is accidental. If you think about it, it's more like a dev oversight than a proper bug. _Of course,_ a car with no driver would roll down a hill if it were spawned on top of one.
@ef5supercell4 ай бұрын

Confession Time: As a young aspiring programmer I coded my own way to combine two pictures. I was really into these GTA SA myths, I searched the internet, youtube and all the forums for lists of all known myths. I found some with some super janky ideas, but I enjoyed those just as much as established ones. I learnt a lot about game design and understood why the "ghost cars" or the "lemmings" existed in game. But I wanted to start my own myth. So I came up with a similarly janky myth. The ghost witch! It was a broom flying around the abandoned airfield with an invisible witch on top. The myth never took of, but I had a good chuckle and an overengineered fake that nobody watched. Funnily enough there were other myths about a ghost witch that placed it in a nearby ghost town, but I don't think there is a connection there.

There is one little bug you can sometimes experience over by the empty cabin that is somewhat creepy. Sometimes the game will spawn in a few pedestrians on the mountain above. Having not been spawned on a sidewalk or near the road they inevitably try to walk over towards the nearest path and fall off the mountain to their death. Right before they splat though, they'll scream which depending where you're at, you might hear them scream but not see them, leading to rumors of disembodied voices. Turns out it's just the game having weird NPC spawns.

Though, there is indeed that one "ghost car", even if it was caused unintentionally by devs putting a spawn point on a slope if memory serves me right, surprised me when i first saw it back in the day too, but on the bright side i didn't have to walk back on foot. Currently doing one last 100% playthrough of SA, finally done with tags(screw whoever designed tags and vigilante missions by the way, those are the only 2 things i don't love about the game), so looking forward to getting to exploring it once again after i complete it.

That part about the alien thing, is it because kids back then don't pay enough attention to the games other features, let alone details? Possibly some kids playing the game never at all bother about the in-game radio and just let whatever tuned on the car they got on let on. They got onto a car, it plays WCTR talk radio station, and on that time it's on the 'Area 53' segment, the host and the caller talks about sighting of creatures or phenomenon at random places that as the game progresses, are learned to be in the game and goes on to that place thinking they would find some alien ghosts stuffs. Before GTASA were released, people have been invested in other good games before, never those experiences be gone as they then get to play thr new SA. And then, there's people who without context at all, ventured the SA maps including the jungle areas, and then some one out of trillion odds bugs happened before them and thinking "Oh god! It's the devil!" and from there, rumors just flows out like a tap water.
