yoninizan Its just the block in stage, but getting the outline of the body parts right with the angles correct is key. Especially for a teaching video. I bet if she indicated perspective lines for the ground, then she could see the angle of the left foot is in an impossible position.

yoninizan You can prove it to yourself. A good practice is to take a screen snap shot, put it in photoshop and overlay the sketch to the photo. Another clue is to look at the indication of the foot shadow to that of the sketch. Then you will see the problem. Always remember to ground the subject and don't draw it floating on the canvas.

yoninizan I'm glad you tried the method I described. Its pretty obvious even without it. I appreciate you defending her...but its important to get the basics engrained in the novice. There is no tearing down, just helping beginning artists to think critically. I've never seen any instructor of mine excuse anyone's sketch for poor angulation. You would be held back. Its important for the novice to put a floor down, get perspective right, otherwise they will fall into poor habits and draw bizarre looking body parts without being aware of the problem. Get it right as a beginner, then the next steps fall into place much easier. When I put my work up in class for critique, I hope they will tear it down, so i can learn from my mistakes. Hopefully, that makes sense to you.Good luck!
