I’m another watcher who found you guys via your Wheel of Time reactions. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your WoT reactions, especially the S2 finale. Jay forgetting to respond because he’s so engrossed and Adam crying at the big Mat moment really got me. Yes, Season 3 will be heavily focused on Book 4 (with elements of 3 & 5 brought in) which is widely regarded as one of the best books in the series. All signs and rumours indicate this coming season is going to be absolutely bonkers…in the best way. I really hope you guys are able to do reactions to it. Hopefully Amazon beefs up their marketing so there’s more attention on it by the time it drops in March.

It was a 1915 audio recording of Rudyard Kipling’s haunting “Boots” poem. It details the everyday thoughts and feelings of a British soldier in the Second Boer War (1899-1902). Where over 300,000 British soldiers fought against only 50,000+ Boers (Dutch colonials in South Africa). The poem describes how the soldier has to endure endless marching through the unbearable dust and heat of South Africa, hunting for an hidden enemy that never attacked him. Just day after day after day, endless marching, countless miles, and not a single shot being fired. Eventually the soldier is driven insane by the sights and sounds of marching boots since that is the only thing that is happening in his war. The poem perfectly captures the raw emotion of one losing their sanity due to constant relentless endless repetition, so much so that it is even used to train militaries today of building endurance against torture methods. The poem would be played on loop constantly and subject (soldier) would have to train themselves mentally to endure.

The only plotline that seems to be from book 3 is Egwene's Accepted test, which we see in the teaser. Other than that, it seems like they're skipping most of book 3 entirely, and jumping straight into book 4. I think they're moving the whole Callandor plotline to after the events of book 4, cause nothing happens with it for several books after book 3, so it wouldn't really affect anything if they shifted the order of events. Rand literally gets it, and leaves it where he found it until like book 8 when he goes back for it.

Just commenting to say that like many i found you from your Wheel of Time reactions. I appreciate you being up front about the reasons why you might not react to it. As much fun as it is for those of us who watch, the business side of it has to take precedence for you guys. I hope you decide to give it another shot since season 2 had issues related to the strike. Personally I think this season might be the big blow up for Wheel of Time. No COVID, no strike. They (hopefully) will be promoting it fully. As a subscriber, let me make the case why you should cover Wheel of Time. Points, with spoilers and speculation below the fold. 1)This season is built around The Shadow Rising (4th book), a better (and fantastic) fantasy book, 2)This teaser is getting a much bigger reaction than S2's did, 3)Marketing for this season is with a different group and they've been doing a better job - better teaser and poster vs. prior seasons, 4)Marketing for a show like this is usually built around the cast, who were unable to support it because of the strike last time, 5)Adding Sohreh Aghladashloo (Emmy winner and Oscar Nominee) to the cast in a key role (Elaida) is a big deal for future success. 6)Everyone involved says this season is another leap in improvement (similar to S1 to S2) SPOILERS - BASED ON READING THE BOOKS AND BEHIND THE SCENES ON WHERE EVERYONE WAS WHILE FILMING 1) This is a little of the Dragon Reborn, All of the Shadow Rising and some of the Fires of Heaven. We're getting Tar Valon, the Black Ajah Breakout, The Tower Coup, Tanchico & Moghedien vs. Nynaeve, Aiel Waste with Moiraine, Rand and Lan + Rhuidean. They filmed in South Africa (Aiel Waste), Italy, Spain and Czech Republic area for some great shots. 2) Perrin gets his Goldeneyes to Two Rivers storyline with Faile and a massive battle in Ep 7. This is a fantastic arc that will pull people in. 3) They're leaning into Moiraine vs. Lanfear. This will have a dramatic end for both of them. 4) I think we're getting the Finns (extra-dimensional creepy aliens) and Mat in his Odin arc. Mat will also take a jump up this season going into S4. 5) We're getting Morgasse/Rahvin storyline. I think they're combining Rahvin and Samael and they got a great actor to portray him. So we'll have a great set of villains, Liandrin, Rahmael, Lanfear, Asmodean (will also be in this season) and... Elaida. 6) The Tower Coup and Siuan and Moiraine's endings will be a shock. This is going to be a big season for shocking revelations, fights and a giant battle to bring people in. Ending will be Aiel going over the Spine of the World to attack Cairhein/Fight. Sets up Emperor Rand arc, Egwene to the Little Tower, Mat and the Band of the Red Hand, Elayne/Queen Arc and then... Dumai's Wells in S4. Real key for the show will be how they compress books 7-11 into S5-S6. This will be their best opportunity to improve on the books. Remember it was S3 & S4 that were key to Game of Thrones lifting off in terms of audience going from 11 million to 20 million viewers. Wheel of Time is set to make the same type of jump.

So I only clicked on this because of Wheel of Time, but I didn't skip! I did mute during Doctor Who because I haven't finished the last season yet, but I watched everything else, even though I haven't seen any of those other properties, and your reactions were so fun! I actually discovered your channel because of your WoT reactions and I loved them! I am actually gonna go back and watch them again! I really hope you do put them out on KZbin because I think the audience engagement is going to soar with season 3. I think the strike really messed things up for WoT season 2, especially because of how the 'Rona messed up how season 1 turned out. But I think the word has gotten out about how much improved season 2 was and I think (especially since it's a lot of book 4) season 3 is going to be AMAZING!

I really do think it was the strike that made everything wonky (both for you all and for the show itself). I also think this is going to be an incredible season, based upon the source material that they've said they'll be working with. This will really be a turning point for the show and its story. 28 years later is going to be a trilogy. Cillian Murphy is returning. The little boy at the start is called "Jimmy" by the woman. The writing on the building has "Jimmy" added on it. The tied up zombie in the building has "Jimmy" carved into it's stomach. Cillian Murphy's character is named Jim in the first movie. BUT with that being said, I don't think it's his character. He wasn't a kid when the outbreak happened.

I learned from the Dead Meat Podcast that the audio in 28 Years Later was a Kipling poem about the Boer war (that seemed to go on forever) and later on, it was used in SERE training (I can see how it was used to break down soldiers). I was already creeped out even before that. Also, the VA's last role was King Stefan, Sleeping Beauty's dad lol Also regarding Oscar Award Winner Zillian Murphy, they have 2 references to Jimmy in the trailer. (3 if you consider the look-alike from the reeds), I can totally see a cult springing from his legend - waking up alone in a hospital to saving Selene & the girl. Also, I wonder which ending they're using from 28DL.

Personally I loved your Wheel of Time reactions, and if they are doing Book 4 (which it seems like they are) I'd love to see you react to it, but I know that if the numbers don't make it worth it, they don't make it worth it. As someone on the fence with the WoT show, I really hope y'all end up doing it. The thing with WoT, is books 1-3 are... basically just the prologue. The origin stories of the characters. Book 4 is where the series proper truly gets the the ball rolling, and is often seen as one of the best of the series. With season 3 being "mostly" book 4, this is(and really, was always going to be from the start) going to be the REAL test of this series adaptation-wise.

Wheel of Time - it's not so much that they're smushing 3 & 4 together, it's mostly 4 with some 3 and some 5. Season 4 probably gets you to end of book 6. Goal is all 14 books within 8 seasons. Season 3 is going to be noticeably better than Season 2 and is already getting more buzz.

I totally understand your reservations about reacting to The Wheel of Time. Fans of the books are probably disappointed at how the show has adapted the books. I know I am. However, if there is anything that can convince you to react to the new season, I would say that this season is adapting book 4 and book 4 is where things really start to crank into gear and the story really picks up. Adam can back me up on that.

My theory is if the virus evolved, maybe rage has a way of manifesting in a more human way. Like if someone is threatening your loved one, you immediately break into a berserker rage. Or if you ask something from someone and they don't give it to you, you get really angry and then you start hitting/infecting. So it's not as mindless as it was in the previous movies.

You guys definitely do what’s best for your channel! One thing to consider though is that WoT season 2 got basically no advertising due to the strike. The Season 3 teaser is already getting a bigger reaction, there will be more ramp up, and as others have stated they have a new marketing team and the quality of what’s dropped so far is head and shoulders above what it was before! Whatever you guys do, I and a lot of the WoT community here will be with you for the long haul! That said, I hope I get to see you guys react to S3 :P

The cult is apparently worshiping Jimmy, the protagonist in 28 Days. On the wall in one frame you can see "Behold, he is coming with the clouds" this is from revelation 1:7. "Jimmy" has been added onto it. This suggests there was a religious sect at this location before the Jimmy cult moved in and took over. The island is a tidal island off the North East coast of England, ironically named Holy Island of Lindisfarne. It's connected to land by a long causeway. You can even see the actual name of the island on the sign. So they used a real location and kept it authentic. They also used some interesting places in Somerset, including a village called Priddy and Cheddar Gorge.

While the movies themselves arent the scariest films ever the thought of "surviving" in that specific kind of outbreak just seems futile from the start. They dont even eat you like most other zombie media, they just sprint at you and beat you mercilessly and i seriously dont know which i find more terrifying.
