I am sure you were born after the predator was released to consider this the best of the sequel. Go and watch or even re-watch the previous predator (1,2, predators) and then come back again to compare.

Predator 2 and Predators were both decent, though I thought they were held back by lesser characters and references to the first respectively. Prey is definitely a welcome step, it strips out all the unncessary elements and goes back to basics. There's a lot you can do with different time periods.

I'm all for respecting the classics, but c'mon... this was clearly a superior film in almost every aspect.

​​@@sunsetman22 It came pretty close for me, the only thing Prey was missing was the sense of mystery around the creature that heightened the fear factor, but that's very tough to replicate after the first film.

@@yankeebisbis Predator 2 featured a team of characters, but they weren't as cohesive or well-developed as the original. Prey does away with that dynamic and focuses on a smaller scale cast for a tighter focus, at least for me.
