I love pricking out and potting on as it's so therapeutic. Today I've done loads of Cosmos and Petunias which were way over due and were practically begging to get out of their seed trays. Still got loads more to do as I'm a bit heavy handed with my sowing but like you, I give loads away. Amazing how much compost is needed. Your Foxgloves germinated really fast and had fantastic roots. I'm going to try your method next time. We've had two glorious days here in Cheshire so I've achieved so much in my garden which always makes me feel good. Hope you've had a good weekend too Diane.

Hi Wendy. I know what you mean. It's a bit of a panic when seedlings reach that stage and they seem to double in size every day😄. You sound just like me; I always ignore any suggestion to just use a few of the seeds and keep the rest. I always plant the whole packet, or three! I love cosmos but it never does very well in my garden. I think it's too shady.

Fabulous Foxgloves I enjoy growing them from seed to and at the bottom of the garden have a small area I have titled "The Dell" full of snow drops right now. I am really enjoying the channel and slowly watching your videos in order. Thank you for sharing Diane. 🐞🌻🌱

That area of your garden sounds lovely Jane. It's nice that you are watching the videos from the beginning. It should give you a very real sense of how my garden develops in real time throughout the year. I'm just about at my one year anniversary. My very first video went out on the 2nd Feb last year. I can remember being so nervous that I had to have a glass of Baileys first😁.

I love foxgloves - I grew some of the apricot ones last year and I’m so excited to see what they look like when they flower! You have lots of patience pricking out all those seedlings!

Hi there. They sound gorgeous. I love that colour. Just got back from holiday this morning, so I'm going round to the greenhouse now to see how they have done. I'll shoot a post-holiday video so you will be able to see. Diane x

I truly understand your love of starting and nurturing seedlings. I just started this practice and love it! Started with Alyssum and Cosmos. Today I started milkweed for the Monarch butterflies. I'm addicted. Hope your seedlings do well while you are away!

Just got back this morning at 3am. It's now about 11am, so I'm going round to the greenhouse to see how they are doing. I'm very anxious😬. I'm going to take my phone and take some footage for a post-holiday garden video, which I'll upload as soon as possible, so you'll be able to see for yourself. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment. Fingers crossed xx

I'm not great at this process so I limit the number I'm going to sow. I havent got the space for many seedlings so that helps 😄. Hats off to you for the patience of doing so many. The display next year will be amazing. I do love foxgloves.

Do you grow all of your seeds in vermiculite? I must try that Diane, as all composts are really poor now they're peat free. Xx

Hi Julie. Lovely to hear from you. Yes I do grow them all in vermiculite. Sprinkled three types of seed in vermiculite one week before we went on holiday hoping that they would have germinated by the time I got back and, wouldn't you know it, they were all up within a week, before I left. Got back from holiday 3am this morning so I'm going round to the greenhouse now to see what has survived. I'm very anxious😬
