Crazy how this was one of the last big moments in Pride. The “good guy” beating the “bad guy” type of story. Henderson ended Silvas streak in true ‘Rocky’ fashion, then did it to Fedor in the last days of Strikerorce as well

This has to go down as one of the greatest fights of all time. Both guys were literally trying to take heads clean off the whole fight. Hendo is just a different kind of beast. Fights like this are the reason I used my hard earned money back in the day to watch Pride instead of the UFC during this era. The original Champ Champ and the real deal Hendo. Hendo in his Prime was so fun to watch. Weight classes didn't matter to this man and he fought and beat the best in in their prime at multiple weight classes. This man was the real P4P King in the early to mid 2000s. Won championships in all the Big 3 Organizations Pride middleweight and welterweight , Strikeforce LHW and UFC middleweight tournament winner. Not to mention Rings tournament Champ. And that's just a small part of his accolades. Dan was and is tha man!!!

I've always loved pride and it was so savage for the rules and guys paid to not let you have an advantage on the ropes. Little rules but some. They really had to use more martial arts and commando style tactics at times to win the fight. The knees on the ground just brutal and incredible. Love pride still miss it today. I’m American and I agree. Hell you can’t even have anyone stand these days for the flag let alone show respect their surroundings. America is far from what it used to be. Most people don’t have respect they live in a me world. I conclude it to poor parenting. Hell your lucky to see a fight today where they show respect and don’t talk a bunch of crap prior especially boxing. Call me old fashioned but pride, respect, and honor are very much apart of martial arts and general life. Not all of us are like that but many are. I respect you for calling it how it is 👍🏻.

Met Mrs Henderson sometime in the late 90s prior to this when he was training out of the Temecula High school wrestling room. I know it was before he opened up Team Quest or any other gym. I was completely ignorant of who he was then and as one of his training partners stated "living under a rock." A year later while in Japan, I saw posters of him advertising an upcoming fight. I told my brother-in-law that I had met Mr Henderson and he got all excited telling me how much Japan loved him. That rocks I was living under apparently was international. I've tried to meet him at times but always seemed to miss him. All I remember was a very humble, down to earth guy who invited me to come train with him and his crew.

Yeah; Dan "the H-bomb" Henderson. He started his career at 170 and ended up beating ex-UFC light-heavyweight champions in his 40's when he weighed what middleweights now walk around at. New school mma pussy fans don't get it. They think a ref should get fired if they don't stop the fight when a fighter gets buzzed and all the champions should fight once every 14 months in 25 minute staring contests for a million dollars a pop. Their ideal champ-champ's are Conor no defenses division freezer and Jon Jones who needs 3 years to gain 10 lbs to fight the not heavyweight champ and rip van Stipe before retiring at 34. Lol
