I was raised Catholic, but had a lot of Protestant influence growing up. It took so long to allow myself to really have any true appreciation for Mary and what the church teaches about her, but now that I have, it is so awesome. I am so happy that she is my mother who always intercedes for the church. I've seen God's hand work in my life on account of her prayers, praised be God. Ave Maria.

So beautiful. I love that they sing the first verse in the original French. And they sing it correctly, with the accent on the "ve" of "ave" instead of accenting the ""a" in "ave".

I agree with you about the verse in the original French, but the accent on Ave is actually on the first syllable, not the second.. the word is Latin, and should be sounded accordingly. Let alone that the idea of accenting the third syllable of Maria is ridiculous; it will never be said that way, and shouldn't be sung. The second syllable is the accented one -- so as far as Latin goes, the other version of the refrain actually makes much more sense.

I sometimes have a hard time listening to my biological mom because there are times when I don’t want to listen to what she has to say but then the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God steps right in and has something to say to me, “Alan, it’s my understanding that you sometimes have a hard time listening to your mom because you can be hardheaded and stubborn but you need to stop being hardheaded and stubborn and start listening to what your mom says and you better start listening to what I say because I am the Mother of God.” So if there are times when I’m not going to listen to what my biological mom says, then Mary, the Mother of God steps right in and voices out her opinion. So I can at times argue with my biological mom but I can’t argue with Mary, the Mother of God at all because she’s way more powerful than me.
