We spent Thanksgiving on the Crooked River. Very relaxing time by the river and a little exploring the area. This year we cooked a small ham on our induction cooktop this year. In the past we have done turkeys in our small treager. If you ask nicely the butcher will often cut the turkey in half for you. A half turkey cooks well for the two of us and lots of left overs. During this trip we made a pass through the Mallory Mountains and the Wiley Flat burn area. We saw a few deer. That may be a good place to try some morel picking next spring. The Elkhorn, Wiley Flat, & Double Cabin campgrounds did not burn.

It was a first for us to have a Friendsgiving, and it seriously did not disappoint! The food and the company was incredibly good! But, I’ll admit, I had a similar feeling as we drove off. I mean this is how all our get togethers end, but this just felt different. P.s. we soaked our turkey in a brine and it didn’t even compare to the magic you made 😂 Happy Thanksgiving man, we will catch up soon
