its a mix blessing. i looked at the Codex and it is rumored that the Tech-Priest who built Redemptor Dreadnought pay little mind to the one who will be entombed in them so the compact power reactors that powered the dreadnought will leak radiation inside the sarcophagus. you know with Engine War out and allows me to create my own home brewed Forge World and become a Fabricator General, am thinking of creating an Iron Hands Successor Chapter to protect my Forge World just like the Steel Confessors Chapter. Just don't tell the High Lords ok. if i am planing to built Redemptor Dreadnoughts i will make sure to properly shield the sarcophaus. you may find it odd that a Tech-Priest let alone Fabricator General would care for the well being of "meat bags" and the reasoning is that you can't replace battle experience nor can you recreate it. so the less of the entombed die of radiation exposure from the power reactor the less of these valuable "resources" will be loss.

Imagine being an old dreadnought.. saved from death and installed into what was an almost unstoppable killing machine, you're feeling all kinds of badass, you step out onto the battlefield "EVEN IN DEATH I STILL S.." and suddenly a redemptor is basically stepping over you like you used to do to normal marines. You're also now stuck inside that now obsolete model forever, knowing what could of been.

If I recall correctly, the sarcophagi are removable, because the Space Marines inside do *eventually* die in them, and it serves it's actual purpose as a sarcophagus. That being said, presumably the sarcophagus could just be removed from the old dreadnought body, and inserted into one of the redemptor bodies.

What do you mean? What did they do to the 'death' title? Did they remove the word 'death' or replace it with a nice word like 'the place after which we do not speak of, such is as may be, but for now living is happy'. That sounds crazy internety stompy stompy enough. Man, I know what the future will be... picture a bubble. ;)

The pegs & rotations are a big step forward for GW. To see so much movement on a GW kit is refreshing, they're normally very static. Especially good news for the younger/newer hobbyists who aren't at the magnetising stage yet or don't particularly want to go through the fuss of magnetising.

Is there much of a difference in terms of stats and performance, just because the easy to build is £15 cheaper and it seems a bit daunting to glue it all and stuff. Still don’t understand why the how to paint on warhammer tv requires like 30 paints 🙄
@Warhamer116
@Warhamer116 5 жыл бұрын
SDGaming _ warhammer tv is marketing the paints so it is preferrable for them to have people buy 30 different shades of paint than mix from 5-10 pots (and by specifying *exact* shade they are pushing people into using the named set of paints rather than paints from some other manufacturer).

Really is a masterwork of design. Itr has all the best elements of the post-herey "metal-bawxnought" with the mass and articulation of the contemptor dreadnought. The sarcohpagus is great. The legs are great. The number of extra weapons in general it's able to carry without feeling cumbersome is great. (The front "sponsons" for the bolters/frag launchers in particular feel like a British tanks.) The articulation is fantastic. But my favourite details is just how much the melee weapon now resembles a space marine power fist.

12:10 ok, here is the low down on walker feet. Bigger and wider means a bigger platform to not sink into the ground. But smaller and thinner means it can go over more difficult terrain. As for stability and balance, that is all in the mechanics, hydrolics that adjust to keep it balanced. So 2 leg, tiny feet walker would have its hydrolics adjusting alot more to stay upright. .....add more legs like a spider and it becomes very stable. 2 legs and big feet mean when it plants its foot down, it is harder to tip over.

Well since I have spent 3 years in a marching band I learned that you move alot faster and quieter moving backwards on your ties rather than the heel. So the heel being smaller would be better considering it would be easier to move on it's toes, while having a larger heel would act as a weight holding it back. Hope this helps (great vids man. Keep up the great content👍)

Thanks for the great review. I have the model and am currently in the process of magnetizing guns and so forth. Well engineered kit with probably the best instruction booklet I have seen thus far from GW not to mention the data sheet. I will say however that some of the individual pieces don't have the most optimal gluing interface points and they could have been a bit better but a very minor complaint. This model has a ton of plastic and is a great deal when compared to other kits in terms of price to value.

I've never realized how actually huge is the Redemptor! Like 1,5 Castraferrums or a Leviathan. I am pretty sure that Belisarius Cawl wants to return the Imperium to Crusade-era level, as he also created the Neo-Volkite pistol and Mark X armour (which resembles one of the best pre-Heresy armour, the Mark IV Maximus).

looks like GW has finally learned a thing or two from Bandai, still not half as crazy articulated as a gundam plastic model kit but still a huge improvement. Didn't realize it was going to be so huge, I wrongly assumed the sarcophagus was going to be roughly the same size on the redemptor as on the original, or slightly larger so I expected it to be closer in size to the contemptor in size.

I'd say it doesn't need larger heels if it has better balance and dexterity due to technological refinement. Most bipedal creatures in nature have small dewclaws or heels comparatively. Better balance means you can limit areas rather than being forced to compensate for bad design. Personally i love the old design. Big, clunky and lumbering. But this thing looks like it can sprint. That makes it more terrifying.

I have 2 Forge World Contemptors that I bought before this thing came out. Feels bad, man. This model is so fantastic looking. That said, the Forge World contemptor has even more poseability than this thing. Or at least you can get even more dynamic poses. No real possibility for movement. I love the whole sarcophagus armor thing. Makes you think that maybe the sarcophagi of older dreadnoughts could be transplanted into these things.

Well... £40 is still quite a lot of money, but I have to admit that it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and does look good ( the movable / interchangeable parts are a nice bonus ( ok, moving parts have no eefect on it's abilities in game, but they are still nice to have - especially for a collector ), although it would have been even better if they could have got the torso to move on a ball joint as well. So, as you said, it's a great model and I believe GW will be selling quite a lot of these.

Such as the hands (two fists is a good idea), and the fact you can see the guy inside it, rather than the flat face like on the smallest and biggest ones. I would love to see a cover that slides up and down so you can see a guy inside or completely cover him for battle. As well as 20 kabalite warriors( dark eldar) it also came with scenery, blast templates, dice, codex when back then you could buy 1 codex for the whole game lol now you have to buy for ur chapters lol. I've been a little out of the loop with what's going on with 40k for the past five years or so. Are regular boxy Dreadnoughts being phased out? I always really liked the boxy look of them. Also are the new Primaris Space Marines just a different sculpt or do they have separate rules/point values from Tactical Marines? Are Tactical Marines even still a thing or are they all going to be the Primaris scale moving forward?

the new stuff has there own rules and tactical marines are staying for this edition.

William Aitken the primaris aren't meant to replace regular marines, there meant to slot in next to them kind of like a support unit, but you can make a purely primaris army though

i really wish they would build the mech themed units in the same way gundam model kits are built so we can freely pose them!

Cheers Games Workshop is finally coming close to Bandai when making model kits. A decade more of learning and GW would have firm but flexible joints just like on Bandai's RG kits. Cheers for you Warhammer. Progress.

Thinking about converting it into a Chaos Dreadnought-Hellbrute-Monster-Thing. But I don't quite like it, so I'd have to do loads of converting.... have to think about it

It feels a bit like GW saw what Dust did, and even though Dust is now defunct, they still thought they needed to make sure Dust didn't make a 4th comeback XD

Am I able to make both of the main weapons? And are they interchangeable like the other dreadnought kits?

Harrison Broomfield Yes. Did you watch the video? You will need 3 small magnets.

2 words... HELL YEA! I might wait Til Christmas to buy one of these though over here miniatures cost double the amount, it's sucks but you Gota do what you Gota do, it makes everything so much more rewarding though, I always enjoy these reviews bro, keep it up!

I was thinking that only yesterday, you know, 'I wish I had 500 to buy lots of figures'. But, then, you think that it's kind of nice that you can't just buy model after model. I live in England, near a GW shop, so, I have it easy, at least. In fact, I am maybe 4 hours from Warhammer World. I may go at some point, but getting there and back is hell and costs more than 100 models... no wonder it's free to get into Warhammer World -- it's sure as hell not free to get there.

leviathan is thicker depth wise and seems a bit heavier i would say its heavier than both the tele and primaris however the tele is probably lighter than both by quite a bit.

Hmmm... It wouldn't take much to kitbash a leviathan out of this and the plastic contemptor. Roughly the same price too. A lot cheaper if you get a plastic contemptor off ebay though...

The size of a leviathan, and maybe as useful as a GW contempter (Not to be confused with a FW contemptor)

out of curiosity what model is your "Pilot" model? is it an actual GW model? I am going to guess it is from forge world and not an actual primaris. I personally do not get any GW stuff to play with, I love the painting and collecting and from your review I really want one of these, I like the way is has been designed, great vid as always sir.
