That is gorgeous! I'm beginning to think that, instead of all the colours I did order for pouring, I might well have stuck with the five you used here. I like it the way you prefer it but when you were still moving the paint around, I thought it would look good the other end up, like some glorious growing thing.
@StudioPashnada7 жыл бұрын
Esther Westcott you can mix almost any color from Primary Cyan, Primary Yellow & Primary Magenta.
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Esther. I think I often use too many colors, when in fact just three can make enough variation when you add black and white too.

Hello Deny , very nice colours 👌👍. I am new with acrylic pour, I like it but I hate wasting paint when tilting or swiping so thought of using small containers and while moving or tilting the canvas with one hand I would move the small container near the borders so that the paint will fall into it. Thought to share it with you as I thought you too hate to waste paint.😉

I started with watercolours and I knew I only needed a small number of colours but there are so many pretty colours or fascinating names. Who wouldn't have to have viridian, for example? I was a bit more restrained when I was buying acrylics for brush painting, etc., but I found a good sale when shopping for acrylics for pouring so I bought all the colours from my favourite pouring videos. I'm going to look for that Fire Opal by Martha Stewart tomorrow when I pick up some canvases at Michaels. It's a 55% off coupon day!
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Looks like Fire Opal has been really popular because I've not been able to find it recently. The set I bought is out of stock most places. But it will probably be back on Amazon soon.

Deby this is gorgeous. Glad it worked out so beautifully especially since you bought such a lovely canvas. It would look amazing resined but if a really good canvas costs that much I would hate to think how much you would need to pay to get resin in the Bahamas !! Think I'd rather do without it and get to live in such an amazing place..... Love your videos. Cheers, DEB T
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, resin costs a lot here. But its all part of the sunshine tax :-)

I am finding it more difficult this time of year. Getting more failures and finding it hard to get a good finish on my varnish. Its drying as soon as I put it on there.
@sparkle5ms7 жыл бұрын
Very pretty! Love the colours. One question how long does it take for the canvas to air dry?
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the size, but usually 2-3 days to be dry all the way to the center
@chattykathie71297 жыл бұрын
Wow sooo lovely! Great cells. I've been watching u from the beginning, when u struggled to achieve good cells. Can you share how and when that changed? Was it paint, silicone, medium, consistency, or technique that gave you awesome cells?
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
It was really getting the right consistency, through lots of experiments, and just gradually tweaking the recipe a tiny bit. I also experimented with lots of other additives too such as alcohol, dimethicone etc. I think doing things that didn't work in the end helped me get things right.
@deegee12427 жыл бұрын
Beautiful result.. How long did it take to dry.
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
About 3 days to go right through to the middle.
@estherwestcott90857 жыл бұрын
Deby, I was looking at the videos you did with the paints you made up with your mica powders from soap making. Do you still use them? I am a big fan of shiny things in general but it took a while to come round to thinking of sparkle in relation to painting.
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
I've not used them for a while Esther. Some of them are OK, but a few of the others tend to look a bit grainy when dried. I usually stick with the gold and copper which work well, and the iridescent ultra fine glitter

Hi Deby . I have followd you over a longe time and I am very impressed by yout paintings and the way you so kindly explains everything, all is so beautiful. @AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the question Marjorie. Do you mean about painting the sides first? If so, no you don't always need to do that. I just did it so I wouldn't have to tip the paint over the edges and could have more control.
@getin39497 жыл бұрын
Greetings Deby, I am delighted that I accidentally found your videos. Since I am a new subscriber I haven't yet viewed all of them. Because I wanted to get started as soon as I can, would you please tell me in what order you put your paint into the cup. Do you alternate the opaque with the transparent paints or doesn't it matter in the end? The solid black background really enhanced the brilliant colors in this painting, very lovely. Do you think a pumpkin and green combination would end up muddy?
@getin39492 жыл бұрын
WHAT REALLY SUCKS ABOUT THESE VIDEOS IS THE PERSON MAKING THEM DOESN'T ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS SO WHAT'S THE POINT??
@kerinbot7 жыл бұрын
I think technically, a true CMYK would have a somewhat more cyan (teal or blue-green) color, but this worked great for this pour! (I used to work in publishing, which really kind of lives and dyes - pun intended - by CMYK!)
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, so funny. Yes getting the right color in paint for a cyan is difficult. This was the closest I had.
@BlaizC7 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's gorgeous! I can't believe that canvases cost so much where you are. If you buy them online, is there a high import tax as well?
@AcrylicPouring7 жыл бұрын
Yes crazy expensive to ship things in, then we have port fees, handling fees, clearance fees, customs duties etc, and the 22% difference in exchange rate between Cayman and US dollars. Plus the uplift the shops charge because they just can. But I think of it as a sunshine tax.
