The police station was 6 miles away but, it took them over 45 minutes to get there when the 911 call came in. What were they doing having a pot luck? I read the police report. I live in southern Wisconsin hours away from this incident but, darn, the question remains “ what took the police 45 minutes to get there? I also do have questions about the initial 911 call from Jamie’s mother where the police passed the car and a detective said they passed a red car and he suspected it. So why were all the alerts the PD put out that we have no information since that’s the only car they saw on the road where the incident occurred?

Even without sleep deprivation people have inadvertently gotten into the wrong car in a parking lot. There are times that I find myself three blocks past where I was supposed to turn realizing I was daydreaming and mindlessly following a familiar route. No one in this world is always so observant enough to everything in their lives coz even me working as a pizza delivery guy, going in the same building quite regularly I do sometimes mistook wrong apartment particularly at night hours, So specifically in this case even officer Amber guyger wasn't very observant enough at that particular moment & it is very much possible that she mistook neighbour's apartment as her's ... distracted by everything that was going on with her at that particular time + being tired after a whole long tiresome day for a law enforcement officer aren't rare ... & Seeing officer Amber guyger's remorsefulness at her trial & taking the blame was quite acceptable not only from the judge & jurors view but even from the brother of victim showing his gesture of forgiveness was very much touching & a fair enough trial at the end because one person's life has already lost & it is not necessarily to ruined & end another lives by sentencing officer Amber guyger to life imprisonment when this shooting was completely accidental + when victim's family is ready to forgive Officer Amber guyger at the end of this trail then why we people still need to point a finger at one another because there was no motive, no linkage before between officer Amber guyger & the victim mr Botham jean. RIP to the Victim in the case & My condolences to the the victim's families.

They mention how she only talks about her own consequences which is bad enough but note what she thinks those consequences are... Losing her job and losing her apartment. She expected no punishment for shooting a man in his own home besides minor slaps on the wrist. Besides the fact that no normal person could "accidentally" do what she did, and any person who had would be concerned about the victim not themselves... And even if somehow both those weren't true any non cop would be fearing life in prison. She wound up getting a slap on the wrist for murder anyway... And still she's fighting that. Imagine if her and the victims roles were switched. Would the judge be hugging the killer then? This whole case is a travesty.

What the lawyers assume is that a Cop is NEVER Off Duty, which is Absurd. You can't expect an off duty Cop to conform his training 100% because after all they are on their own time. She was just a young lady who wasn't suited to being a Cop but she hung in there until it fried her brain.
@DD-qo1tw10 ай бұрын
@@joekulik999 The relevance of her being a cop is that theoretically she should be even less likely to randomly "accidentally" go into a mans house and immediately shoot to kill. The average citizen doesn't have de-escalation training or training on how to handle dangerous or high stress situations. What you don't seem to understand is that the average citizen would get life for this and have no defense. She and her defense tried to plead for special treatment when really she had even less of an excuse than a random citizen who would have none to begin with. You twisting this to make the killer out to be the victim is absurd. Question what life choices brought you to this backward view.

They said "hi" to me as I walked past them and into the house. It wasn't until her mother walked into the living room and said something that I realized my mistake. So many comments are saying that they don't think that could ever possibly happen because theyve never done it. I clearly remember being on autopilot when i did it, so I believe anything's possible. It was silver, like mine, but a completely different make and model, in a completely different parking spot, obviously full of completely different things than my own. Obviously I didn’t murder someone in that moment but it took a surprisingly long time for my brain to catch up. My expectations didn’t match what I was seeing and it took significant time to rectify the mistake and realize why things weren’t lining up. I’m not a police officer, don’t own a gun, don’t work in this sort of high stress job…but it was a very short span of time between walking in and walking out and I was still confused far longer than you’d think.

Anyone else waiting for an alternative theory regarding motive to be offered by SOMEONE among all those saying how ridiculous her thinking she was walking into her own apartment is? I understand to a degree but when you’re tired and distracted it’s actually quite easy to miss details like a doormat or wrong decor, especially if you’re not expecting anyone to be in there and you immediately hear movement. If not a mistake then why?

I dont think I've ever disagreed more with a case than Amber Guyger. I do believe her story, as foolish as it is. It wasn't murder, but manslaughter. However, her sentence should be at least 15-25 years. She freaking killed an innocent man in his home!
In reference to the Officer who shot the neighbor, how did she get into the wrong apartment? First thing I do when I get to my door is put the key into the lock and unlock the door. I don't check to see if it is unlocked. With that, the key wouldn't turn..

In absolute disbelief that anyone thought the off-duty officer intentionally went to an apartment she knew wasn’t hers in order to shoot someone. Should she have been held responsible for the error she made? Yes. But the sentence she received was unduly harsh and rendered purely to satisfy the outcriers. How many of us have gone to the wrong car in a parking lot and been confused when our key didn’t open the door? One time, after an extremely stressful event I actually drove to my old house that I’d moved from several months before and had rented out. Thankfully, I wasn’t distracted like she was (texting on her phone), but it still took me several moments sitting in my car to process why there was a strange automobile parked beside my home.

I know she might be guilty, however, we experience once someone coming to our apartment because the elevator was malfunctioning bringing people to our floor instead of the person's floor. Thankfully, we turn the lights on and the person apologize and left. Then it happened to us, we went to a floor above ours and we did entered but all departments look the same, however, upon turning the light on, we noticed it was not. The people in the apartment were watching TV. We apologize and left. We locked the door since then. BTW we are in the Canada, gun ownership is not as prolific in Canada compare to the U.S.A.

As other comments have mentioned, it's pathetic that the cops took credit, when they had nothing to do with her escaping this little creep

I dont get the police lady thing... Did she have a past relationship with the tenant above her? Was the door unlocked before entering? Is the apartment set up exactly the same down to the wall color? Like what in the mind of the officer could she even grasp onto to justify that these were the same apartments

It looked pretty dark in there when cops were shining flashlights around. How could she really see all.the floor, furniture and so on.

Amber Guyger, how could she get in wit hout the right key? She was supposedly trained and should be held to a higher standard than a regular person. my father was a state trooper and he always told me "you can't call the bullet back" so you better be damned sure you make the right call before you pull the trigger. She was wrong.

I wouldn’t shoot anyone but I’ve tried opening the wrong apt door. Went to the incorrect floor and tried to open the door and of course I couldn’t. How did she get in, is my question….
