Damn prime went down bad, when I started in 2015 it was pretty good. I got a trainer within a couple days after. And there was zero wait time to upgrade, once my miles were finished I got a truck a week later.

I drove for prime back in the mid 1990s back then there were no tnt 50,000 mile training and the trucks were governed at 70mph . I left prime because my dispatcher was caught embezzling money from his driver's and I was one of them.NEVER!EVER! Go with prime.Sorry to hear u going through tough times. Stay Strong.

When i did TNT it was 30k. I got to the 90 on my last load at 30,008 miles. Pulled up my google maps and there was a airport next door. Booked a flight leaving next morning and off i went home. Waited for upgrade at home, but took 5 weeks. That was April of 2022.

Love your content and you showing us the reality of what happens at Prime, hate that youre stuck and behind, prime is dicking you around, I would tell prime theyre a big ass joke of a company and go to swift or Knight, theyll get you hired right on and 2 day orientation only 4 weeks with a trainer, youd get all that done before your 16,000 with prime

Jim was here 🎉 You won’t get to upgrade at 50k. That’s not how it works. You go on the upgrade list and you wait your turn. The only way to get paid is to go sit in Springfield at the campus inn and wait for a new trainer. If you don’t it’s hard to get paid. Once your at your house your not considered available for dispatch.

What kind of bullshit is prime smoking, 50K miles to complete training alone, a waiting list to go solo what the hell, pathetic company in my opinion

I was planning on coming to prime in October but with tnt taking so long (your not the only one) and then having to wait even longer to upgrade. I could do 3 months but 6 months at $12.00 an hr. Is not for me. Prime seems to be a good company but with the long training and the inward camera's, it seems they're changing in a direction that's not for my plan. Now I'm going to KLLM another reefer company based out of Jackson Mississippi, with a terminal in Larado and in Dallas. The Dallas terminal has a school there, so closer to my house. Training is only 6 weeks then your in your own truck no waiting. They have contract frieght as well. Pays very well, 2 days off for every 7 days worked and they pay you $100 a day when your off. They also have lease, but I'll do company for a year just to get my current otr experience then i'm paying cash for a truck and going to Landstar. Owner operator is my end end plan. So i think for me having previous otr experience KLLM is better for me. Stay strong and good luck.

It's a minimum of 50,000 miles not 50,000 miles. I tell all of my students from day one when they get on my truck. When it was 30,000 miles I had a student complain everyday about his miles. It is the minimum amount of miles that you are going to run. I'm a certified CDL Instructor/TNT trainer. If you have any questions about the training program please contact your fleet manager or contact any of the members of the training department. Steve Tassin, Chris Martin. They run TNT program

Depends on the kind of experience they’re looking for and how long. There was a guy who came in with his cdl and ram his own company.. I’m assuming a small fleet of trucks? Anyways he had to do 50k and he decided to leave. I feel like it’s a case by case basis? I’m not entirely sure.

I’m not a proponent of 50,000 miles for TNT. But, if you know going in that it’s gonna 50,000 miles then complaining about it is basically saying you made a bad choice. That’s not Prime’s problem.
@EKMTransport
@EKMTransport Жыл бұрын
I actually had no idea. Lol. I don’t think that someone who is displeased with having to do 50k and expresses their opinion should be considered a complainer. So far, most everyone I’ve talked to and met hate that 50k was reintroduced. I believe only one group of folks think it is a good idea lol.
@timtravels116
@timtravels116 Жыл бұрын
@@EKMTransport I don’t think it’s a good idea. But not researching the company you’re going to means you’re likely to be surprised in a not good way. There are “easier” companies to go to. And those companies meet the needs of lots of people. Prime is more demanding than most trucking companies so people need to assess whether those demands are worth it.
@EKMTransport
@EKMTransport Жыл бұрын
@@timtravels116 agreed. I did my research, trust me. I guess I got here right after they had just changed it to 50k again and I was there the first week they changed to the new trainee pay system. It’s not that the 50k makes me mad but anyone with a smidge of common sense will not need 50k to decide whether a driver is safe or if they they open doors, check in, trip plan.. I mean, I get there are people out there who learn differently but I just don’t see 50k as a necessity. That’s my argument. Perfect example.. I was at the pad in Springfield and we talked to one of the guys there and he had a girl with him who was at 49.5K and she couldn’t back up or had trouble with it. Who’s fault is that? The trainers or the trainee? It’s things like that where I just can’t see 50k being beneficial when a company pushes folks like “well you’ll get paid more if you train”. To me, that’s the wrong way to incentivize ANYONE to train.

@@EKMTransport 50,000 isn’t a necessity. I’m just suggesting that coming to Prime means someone is accepting it. Doesn’t mean they like it, but that they’re just gonna deal with it. Kinda like being subjected to random drug tests-I find it a bit insulting, but I signed up for this abuse.
