If Liston and Foreman couldn't do it, Mike couldn't either. 2nd, Ali was a master of mental warfare, something Mike showed weakness in. He'd taunt the sanity out of Mike. So Ali '67 vs Tyson '88? And that "aging" Holyfield was roided to the gills and lost to a in form Bowe, someone who would have beaten Ali with ease. Benefit true, however Ali was dominant in the greatest period in the history of heavyweight boxing. Tyson was dominant in one of the worst periods. Then, in the 90’s when the division started picking up and getting great again, he lost to every decent fighter he fought. I honestly don’t think he could beat Ali in his prime. When Ali lost to Frazier, he lost a closely fought fight by decision, which could be scored either way. He was suffering from severe ring rust and was nowhere near as good as he was in 67. We most likely missed out on his best years as he was banned. In his prime, I’d say he’s the closest thing to unbeatable in heavyweight boxing. Tyson was a great boxer with a good skill set, heavily overrated though. There’s a lot of great heavyweights that would make light work of him, George Foreman being one of them.

He had the Determination to win, and WAS NOT A BIT AFRAID of Foreman: important b/c this allowed him to think clearly. And Ali COULD TAKE a lot of punches! Let's face it: Tyson could have never beaten George Foreman. Tyson had the problem lions have. They have a very strong but heavy muscle mass. After 3 or 4 rounds they get tired and lose power in their punch. To beat Ali he would have had to knock him out in the first 3-4 rounds and THAT would have been unlikely due to Ali's smarts, speed and ability to take hard punches.

Ali’s footwork is really fast. It would’be impossible to catch Ali in 4th, 5th round. After 10,11 round Ali would be tired. And there is a chance of tyson to catch him and knock him out. But I don’t think it’s possible in Ali’s prime.

I don't think Ali would have been knocked out, he endure the most hard punchers in the heavyweight division of all time such as Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ron Lyle, Earnie Shavers and even beyond his prime

Prime for prime Ali ('64-'67) and Tyson ('86-'88). Both of them possess the tools to beat the other, we can all agree on that im sure. It comes down to who can hurt who first. If we go off of their past tendencies, Ali is gonna flick his jab out while circling arpund ring and Tyson is gonna stalk him slipping his way inside Ali's range. This is where Ali (in my opinion) could get in trouble. If he lets Tyson stay insode even if he's grabbing ahold of Tyson clinching hes at a major risk of getting chopped down. I think Ali would have to move at all times as long as Tyson is throwing with bad intentions. One punch is all it would take, an Ali could be slept quickly. I could see Tyson in trouble if he's hesitant on throwing his punches and stalking Ali. If Ali can beat Tyson to the punch and keep stuffing his jab in Tyson's face often, and mixing in his straight right and land a few strong rights to get Tyson wobbly, then i could see Ali's blinding hand speed and combos finishing tyson off or at very least have Tyson discouraged and win it on points. But i can't see that happening. Tyson is too good at slipping his way in and doing damage quickly. It would take the best ever version of Tyson to pull it off for sure. But when Tyson was on his game and well conditioned and focused, he was a wrecking ball. Had crazy power, and combined with that hand speed, he got thw punches off so fast and clean. Opponent couldn't see all of them coming.

But if we are being honest yes Ali 64-67 was the closest to prime Ali that we had but I don’t really believe we got a full fledged prime Ali. Yes we saw major glimpses especially in 66-67 but I believe he was stripped of his prime. With that being said, I would take Ali by decision in a competitive fight.

Tyson beats anyone except ali. Ali would've got into his head in the press conferences leading up to the fight then he would've psychologically tortured him in the ring. It would be like watching a matador and a bull.
