Me and my friends played a casual "Any anthem style effect you have also applies to your opponents boards, both ways, and any effect from a permanent that affects you also affects your opponents", so Elvish Archdruid essentially had the Priest of Titania effect of seeing ALL elves when it tapped for mana but also buffed all elves too. Crucible of Worlds let all players play lands from graveyards, Panharmonicon doubled ALL creature/artifact etb effects, etc. Needless to say, it was madness! But to make it relevant, we found we often paid more attention to our own cards/boards and often forgot how our opponents were buffing us. I feel this naturally egocentric stance people have (in a game with an already complex boardstate) is why grouphug decks often have trouble succeeding - even the things that genuinely benefit players just get annoying when you have trouble remembering additional static effect benefits beyond your own board.
@09Dragonite5 жыл бұрын
Just saying, Dean's threat assessment was spot on. He was the only person at the table who recognized how much of a threat the Kerador player was and he knew for a fact that Dom was sufficiently taken care of when John had targeted the crap out of him for going off too early. The Muldrotha player couldn't even build a board state quickly enough to impact anyone, and Glen Elendra Archmage is a really bad Counterspell against Niv Parun. Dean had this one in the bag and didn't even need a combo kill.
@frankschirmer94645 жыл бұрын
The Archmage should have never died to a Niv trigger. The spell gets cast, Niv's draw ability triggers and should be allowed to resolve, Niv's damage ability then triggers and a target is selected, THEN you use the Archmage.

While there might have been a couple missplays with Glen Elendra, you're right. Doesn't matter if the deck is budget, when the pilot is superior :)

12:02 when Niv's ability triggers, Dean has to choose a target in order for it to go on to the stack. I see... I just finished watching the video just now. Its an interesting pod with "team combo" on the top half and "team yard" on the bottom. That Vannifar play initially had me worried that this will be too one sided and I'm glad to see its not that kind of game.

Umm, am I missing something? Why did the Muldrotha player go so many turns without playing anything from their graveyard? Was there something preventing it?

Niv-Mizzet is an absolute boss! I play him in a storm deck with Mind's Desire and he can just wreck opponents

As a good rule of thumb, if you don’t have a good play with a shock land, don’t shock it in, especially if you have a Niv player on the table.

Can someone tell me the point of running crucible in Muldrotha? It just seems a little redundant.
