A little on his towing. Buddy of mine help tow my 23' Airstream which weighs in at 6700 lb in his Ford F-150 with EcoBoost. We went up some gnarly hills and you could definitely feel the bobbing and the bouncing in his truck. It has the power for sure. I commented on the bounciness and he said in his other truck which was a Ford F-250 you wouldn't feel that at all. He recommend getting a truck that weighs as much as the trailer. So I purchased a 2012 Ford F-250 6.4 gasser to tow the Airstream. I purchased a Blue Ix sway bar system and he was correct, I didn't feel the trailer back there at all. Even my wife took a turn at driving it and mentioned how smooth it was. I took my Ford F-250 to the weight scales and it weighs in at 7,070 lb. So to all of you who want to tow with it Ford F-150 do yourself a favor and get a 3/4 ton. Gas mileage was not towing I'm getting around 18 MPG. Not bad. I have helped my neighbors with a full yard of gravel, hold 3,000 lb of Rock and various other landscaping materials. Ford has my respect as this my first three quarter ton vehicle and is doing a great job.

Drop the sport appearance package, and the folding shifter goes away, in favor of a column-mounted unit. The standard 302A package or chrome appearance package skip the folding shifter.

@@Not99always100 So we just came down here to Disney in Orlando from Pensacola. 400... miles of interstate driving. The camper is 25ft and 6200lbs empty. It didn't feel good honestly. Was really disappointed. Tires had 38psi cold. MPG when we pulled into Ft. Wilderness here it showed 7mpg. Was going 65-68 most of the way. Tried faster and slower. Back of truck felt like it was on ice a good bit of the time. Wind was significant so will see how it does going home w wind at our back. I am coming from 3500 so am used to being way more stable. Truck is awesome driving daily.

Kudos to Ford for changing the game again like they did with the ecoboost, now watch all of the other manufacturers scramble to get hybrids out lol. I'm surprised that it's generally accepted as good now, when the prius came out I remember everyone and their brother calling Prius owners "Tree Huggers" and other insults for driving a Hybrid, and now it's embraced. People are starting to understand the utilitarian side of hybrids. Going down a big hill in the mountains? Cool, you're going to arrive at the bottom with more energy than you had at the top. Need to get going quick from a stop? Cool, how does an extra 60-100 ft/lbs of instant torque sound? Does almost 900 miles in between fillups sound good as well? YES PLEASE!

I love it , but not the price. I own 2019 Ford Ranger which gets 24 miles per gallon and pulls up to 7500 LBS. It pulls my travel trailer weighs 4300 with no problem. Ford truck are the best on the road today .

@@79random The console shifter is a feature of the sport appearance package, regardless of whether you order the internal worksurface, which is an option and not included in any of the packages. I hope that helps. If you choose NOT to get the sport appearance package, you don't get the black seats or the console shifter. You get grey seats and a column-mounted shifter.

You missed it a bit on the lighting. The odd fit of the headlights, who's front side markers only reflect. Light for the side is suppose to be from the bizarre LED strip located up front, which isn't much. Also; is the chasm between the headlights and grill functional, e.g., an air channel. This trim level's taillights have amber blinkers, a first for F-150. Also, the brake lights are where the reverse lights are located on lower trim levels.

I'm thinking the void between the headlight and grill are connected to the fender vent which apparently is functional. And I noticed the amber turn signal as well. Not a fan of the taillight design whatsoever nor the tailgate itself.

@@79random Thanks for your reply; it's nice to know that someone else is paying attention to the details. Every reviewer that I've watched, just says the standard, "The exterior design is evolutionary, not revolutionary." It's like "Duh," ninety nine percent of new model year changes are, but that doesn't mean you don't examine it. I'm sorry, it really irritates me. I totally agree with you, that the crevasse next to the headlights has got to be an air inlet. Otherwise, it would reduce aerodynamics. I think Fords lighting designer must have taken a hard hit to the head, because the headlights don't look finished, and the taillights are just plain ugly, both types. The weird front side marker lights, that are are actually up front between the headlights on upper trim levels, don't appear visible from back angles. Most people don't even notice marker lights, but they're important to me since my ass was saved from a crash, because I could see the front side markers of a square body Chevy Blazer, that was coming at me on a dark obscured road.

Remember the level of ride quality and handling depends heavily on the type of tire is on the vehicle. I have a 2020 F-150 and thought it was way too squishy with the stock all seasons. Swapped out with a Falken All Terrain and it firmed up the ride and handling. Suspension is important but tires are a big part of it too. 😉

What was the payload on this truck you tested. I’m curious because the hybrid system is very heavy and all powerboosts have the same 7350lb GVWR. That means any options you add (4x4, lariat trim, 7.2kw pro-power, moonroof, etc) will take away from payload. Please tell me you checked the payload of THIS truck! It’s exactly what I’m looking for, but I’m afraid it may have less than 1500lbs of payload.

Looks SOOO nice, and brings it into this century !! but what is up with that blinking light over the stereo ? can you turn it off ? Can you stay on electric under a certain speed ? I agree with you the Sync system needs a face lift it works great on my other cars but kind of on the boring side, I hate that you can't add a personal back ground!!! like why take that function away and that when connected to Carplay you cant use your native maps! why why why lol side question would you had a choice would you get a Ford Explorer or a F150 ..I know lower towing less power, but for driver empierce over all.

Those are sensors, most likely to detect hand motions, airbags and overall activity, you can't see them with human eyes, the camera picks it up tho, and it blinks because the frame rates are not in sync or are different for it and the camera, and so it picks it up as blinking. It's like LED lights and how they blink on camera for the same reasons, anyway don't worry about it, your eyes will never see it and it's just their for safety reasons.

That truck does look great, but I like the one I have with not all the improved additions to it and I love the large V-8 engine I have in my truck. The new ones have too much technology built into them and the truck you drove with two motors in it may be nice, but I would be worried about the electric motor having problems with it later on.

I was skeptical of the hybrid/electric vehicles, back when they first started appearing on the market. Hybrid technology has advanced enough now that personally I’d say it’s to the point that it’s just about as reliable as anything else on the dealer’s lot these days. I have personally owned a full-size hybrid sedan since 2015, and at a little over 100,000 miles put on it, we have not had any issues/problems out of it with the only necessary work and expense required being the regular maintenance any other vehicle needs so far. Ironically I have had 100% more problems/issues with my 2016 F250, which has relatively low mileage, not abused in any way, and is rarely driven. One of the problems being significant enough that it was essentially turned into a paperweight, sitting in my driveway, and had to be towed to a shop and the motor tore halfway down and reassembled just to get it running again (conveniently not covered under any warranty at the time, of course). This is just my personal experience and comparison with hybrid vehicles though, and I personally do not find them to be any more, or less, reliable than any other current vehicle options. Something to consider as well, there are a couple manufacturers that offer extended, or even lifetime, warranties specifically on the vehicle’s batteries and/or electrical system for anyone concerned about the specific reliability of those parts.

I have the lariat power boost The only think I do not like its when you get into a stop sign and you are in electric mode if you need a quick response for acceleration you can feel a kick in the transmission because it jumps from electric to hybrid mode it has only 536 miles so I don’t know if needs more time!

Can’t remember in the wheel being centered. Sorry. This one felt smoother with the power train compared to GM, but I’ve had clunky experiences with other Ford 10-speeds. It seems so inconsistent and kinda bothersome so hopefully it’s smoother with all 2021s
