As the best-selling nameplate of all time, the #FordF150 is certainly a very important new addition in the Ford lineup. As a whole, the #F150 and the rest of the Ford F-Series family sells around 1 million units ever years. For 2021, Ford is hoping to make the F-150 ready for the onslaught of electric trucks coming to market, starting first with the first ever #PowerBoost engine option. A full #F150Hybrid is here offering up to 430 HP and 570 lb-ft of torque from its 3.5L twin-turbo V6 and two electric motors. #Ford also promises a full electric F-150 is still on the way.

Everyone is always on about air suspension. I've owned a ram with air. It's nice and it's fancy. When it works. Hit a big bump on the hiway.... service air suspension. Put a trailer on that has a hair too much tongue weight....truck won't level. Empty a dump trailer.....weight suddenly comes off the hitch, and Bang. Both bags blown. Thousands to replace and refill the system. I think air suspension is lovely unless you actually need to use your truck as a truck. Just my experience though. In sure for most people it would be fine.

In fact the frame got beefier when they introduced the aluminum cab. The aluminum shaved 700lbs. Of weight, ford added 300 lbs. Of steel to the frame.

@@kdrapertrucker That' actually really smart of them to do, not only does it have a stronger frame but a lighter body that can also withstand a lot of abuse and the fact that the aluminum absorbs a lot of force from impacts making it crumple like tin can but because of that it protects the people inside from hard impacts or injury, as Ford has been crash tested and has gotten really high ratings across the years for how safe their trucks are.

Honestly the truck looks fine as is, what is there to change ? We have options like crazy, the real deal is the interior which i am glad Ford focused on since that matter more and the overall use and ability of the truck and it's performance has been improved, exterior is honestly not bad at all and doesn't need anymore, simple and classic looking.

i have a 2020 F250 SD and has the 10 speed, and you mentioned some quirkiness in the shifting. It takes about 500 miles to figure out "how" you drive then it smooths right out. Great video!

Have full 120volt power outlets where you can use power tools without a generator/engine. EV trucks will be better. And they’ll be very affordable in a few years.

I WILL be buying a 2022 F150- I have one now and love it and this goes to the next level- depending on your trim level these are as quiet as an S class (I used to own one so I know) huge power- great Interstate cruiser and you can easily average 23-25 MPG! Easy to put an audiophile sound system in it - looks fantastic - SOLD!

Nostalgic moment at 15:15 the door lock release on the back door is the same lever they have used since the late 80's and early 90s. I have to admit I have not been a big fan of the F-150 series since they changed in 2005. However, I have to say this reminds me a lot of the 90s F series which I guess it brings back good memories but I would consider this truck for is blend of modern tech and hints of 90s styling. Ford is on the right track with this truck.

Nice truck, but at 75k for a half ton it is way more expensive than what most people will be willing to pay. I can’t even imagine what they will be charging for a full electric one. Full size trucks have gotten way too expensive. You could get two well equipped Tacoma’s for the price of this one truck!

And this review I would’ve appreciated a little bit of explanation about what some of the terms mean eg.. “Full hybrid”, “Full plug in hybrid” (and why that gives you more range), and switching the sport mode put you into “four-wheel-drive”? Of all the full size truck offerings, Ford F-150 has best overall exterior design, IMO. Amber/orange rear turn signals are so much more visible than a red lense. More vehicles should have amber/orange rear turn lense. Maroon exterior really shows off the design. Interior design is well done. Slainte' ! Cheers !

The best motor ford has is the 5.0v8 for these trucks. Just waiting on them to take that away. Toyota is taking the v8 away from the Tundra. The over all longevity that we use to love and enjoy will slowly die with all this boosted applications. Boosted stuff just simply does not last as long as non boosted. Two things I am wondering if Ford is offering for the F-150: 1) A heads-up display 2) A rear view mirror with the camera mode, like what GM and Ram have available I did not see any mention of this for the F150 - does anyone know if these are available?

Objectively, as long as there aren't any maintenance and longevity issues, the hybrid just makes sense. As a mechanical engineer, however, I imagine there will likely be a few problems with it as is typical any time engineers are asked to hit a price point while also trying to cram in new features. That being said, I will likely still order one of the hybrids. The full electric F-150 will have impressive towing capability, however the energy density of gasoline is nearly two orders of magnitude higher than that of lithium-based batteries. Having such a restricted range and an inconveniently-long charging time is a severe handicap on the utility of a truck. For grocery-getters maybe it makes sense, but in many of the use cases that necessitate a truck it simply won't measure up until battery technology substantially improves, which will likely take decades.
