Hero ball until they got a game plan. Jordan ran off of picks just like any other shooting guard. Shot clock running down of course it went to Jordan. E cause he was the hero. Rarely did he have the ball until end of shot clock. Too many highlights is all most see. Growing up a laker fan in la I was lucky enough to get the Chicago feed on cable. For those who only see highlights, you just don’t know how good 23 was. I was all about magic in denial about MJ. After a few years watching all bulls games, there was no denying 23s skill and determination. I hated Bird but he was amazing in his own way. The Celtics and lakers had way better teams at that time though. Laker back up center Mychal Thompson and Celtics backup centers Walton and Joe Klein were better than Dave Corzine and Brad Sellers. All Bulls had was Oakley, a rebounder defender. Young Pippen was raw and shot horribly his first few years. So yes, MJ had to be a hero

Weird stuff. *lol* Living here and only here in my 56 years (Cincinnati.) The only NBA history we had was the Cincinnati Royals and I was just a tike. ha! Fav NBA team. Sadly (of today) I don't really follow the NBA. I see things here and there of course. I guess the last team that I actually "liked" was Denver when Kenyon Martin played there. I was (at one time ) a UCAT at the University of Cincinnati back during the Bob Huggins era. Kenyon always held such a dear place in our hearts when he played here. There in *no doubt* IMO if Kenyon hadn't broke his leg in the conf. tourney that the Bearcats would've have been the National Champions. I don't believe that I had ever actually felt physically sick like I did....the moment that went down. So there it is, for me....NBA wise. But my all time "personal" fav team .......and it's not even close.....we those Bird/McHale/Parrish etc. teams. They were just fantastic and I knew (even then) and I was correct.....that what I was witnessing....and what I was feeling....I'd never feel that way about another NBA team. Holy shit. Larry Bird was so good, he could win a jump ball against The Dream! That’s insane. That’s like making Zeke throw the series away on that steal and pass to DJ. It’s impossible unless you use the Force. Bird is a Jedi. That actually explains everything.

Bird would DECIMATE todays soft league at a legit 6'10". It took MJ SEVEN YEARS to win a title with Larry in the league and MJ never wwon a single playoff game against Bird. Swept, twice.

I was born in 84, so I missed out on most of Bird's career, but the two GOATs of my childhood are Jordan and Olajuwon. The fact they both paid him compliments and feared his game speaks volumes. Jordan never won anythin while Bird was at his best. For all the talk about the greatest players, I think people forget Bird, that's a mistake.

I remember that game. It broke my heart. Larry looked like Rodman on the defensive side. He was like a free radical and just ruined the game for my beloved Rockets.

Was, and always will be a Sonics fan RIP. Hated when we lost to the Rockets, but more so to the Celtics. Larry Bird shows anybody that does not have great flashy physical ability, can still be great if they are smart..... Bird was really really smart!

same here, saw my first game ever against the Celtics on 86, and I was stoked for them to win until I saw how good Bird was up close. I went into immediate despair watching Bird dominate just the first 5 minutes alone.

I am a Houstonian. Many of our fans wanted the Rockets to draft Clyde Drexler instead of Rodney McCray. If Clyde was there this series could have been closer... but I don't think anyone was going to beat the Celtics in this season.

Bird was about team success not individual accolades. He also knew that being unnecessarily on the court could lead to injuries. One of the smartest players to play. Larry Legend 🏀🏆⚘️🥇
