Your videos are great! I have been watching you for awhile. I think since you first started. Each video takes me on an adventure of how it must be in those conditions. You should think about raising either goats or a couple of cows. This will give you a milk source. Goats would be ideal. But cows can pull a plow. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to see the next video.

OK. .can we all please take a moment to appreciate and applaud this man for not eating like a caveman? That he actually eats with his mouth closed and doesn't smack his lips like we see others do on their channel.

Why so judgmental? It is a cultural thing. In other cultures it is a sign of appreciation for the food. You would be the rude one hurting the hosts feelings. Do you think your culture and your manners are the only ones that have value? How nice of you. I think this man is aware enough to recognize that most of his audience is western and he has adapted in order to not offend our biases. Or, perhaps, there has been some western cultural influence in his family and his mother taught him to eat in the unnatural manner where you don't smack your lips. People have to be taught not to. It is actually abnormal human behavior. Observe any child learning to eat.
@CrisPheasant
@CrisPheasant 3 жыл бұрын
@@SSanf there is mild lip smacking and for example 'slurping noodles' which is considered polite and a sign of appreciation in some Asian cultures yes I am well aware of those things. However considering you are being judgemental of my comment tell me something; Do you enjoy hearing the sounds of someone chewing their food the way a cow chews their cud? Do enjoy being able to see that exact image play out in front of you while you are eating? See the difference between what my original comment and what you are judging me for with your comment in trying to sound cultured and superior has nothing to do with what you mentioned. Those other guys know that they are being filmed so they over act and over emphasis their actions, probably because the title of the channel is 'primitive _' and it isn't necessary. Tell me have you watched the videos of the women who also make shelters and cook using primitive means? If so have you noticed that when they eat they keep the lip smacking to a minimum? They show their appreciation for what has been cooked and their thankfulness for it, but the viewer isn't subjecting to being able to hear every single chew nor subjecting to seeing each bite being turned into a mash before they swallow it down. There is 'normal' no matter what area of the globe you live in, and there is disgusting.

We have no evidence to support this thesis, we cannot say that they ate like wild beasts ... The men lived in caves not because they were wild but because it was about being the best option found given the circumstances: - Scientific evidence shows that homo sapiens had the same brain capacity as modern humans. -We are talking about a time called glaciation (ice age). -They were nomads and it was not worth the effort to build so many elaborate shelters. -To be a safe and thermally comfortable shelter because until today we find it difficult to build shelters that have good insulation from the cold. Today we have many materials and techniques available to build our houses, we have thermal heating systems, they at most had animal skins and a small fire.

Eels are sooo underrated as a fish. I had deep fried eel in Chile (called "congrio" I think?) many years ago, blew my mind. Only learned after I ate it that it was eel, they just said "congrio...fish" and it was a huge butterfly cut, very nice.

hummm, taro flour. I wonder if you could make a sifter, to re process the taro for a finer, more consistent grain size, perhaps you could work on a qern, or grist mill. if you have access to enough of the taro flour, you could try making a Mother, ie a wild yeast culture to make leavaned bread! you might also try adding an egg to your bread? cakes usually are egged.
