Primitive Skills

Күн бұрын

Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!
How about you? Your life is definitely different from mine.
Have fun watching the video!

I help raise chickens. They like their soil turn so they have less work to do to get to any bugs. Fermenting their grain improves its nutrient value and ease of digestion. You could build a small ring like a basket without a bottom, and throw in all your food scraps and compost material. Once some decomposition has set in, move it a bit to let the chickens get at the bugs. Keep up the good work. :)

Here in Europe we are not lucky enough to have such beautiful and useful plants in our forests such as bamboo and large palm leaves. And even if there were, it would be forbidden to cut them in nature, they would have to be bought from a merchant. Lucky you are !
@DianeGraft

You asked about where I live. Here in my part of the US (Virginia) we don't have palm leaves to use for anything, they don't grow here. Most of our homes are roofed in asphalt shingles. Our homes must also be well-insulated because it gets cold here in the winter and the houses need to be heated. In early fall, the leaves on the trees change to brilliant colors, and it is quite a show. Right now, in late fall, most of our trees have already dropped their leaves and gone dormant for the winter. Many of our animals are also sleeping through the winter, including the insects and frogs. Some of the birds have migrated to warmer areas for the winter. It looks very sad and barren. But come spring, when the trees all grow their leaves back, and many of them bloom all at the same time, it is amazingly beautiful.

I raise Chickens! The Hen that is constantly sitting on the eggs and gets upset when you get near her is because she is trying to hatch the eggs. Now that you have a Male Rooster you should be able to let her nest and make your flock bigger. Each chicken requires at last a 1ft x1ft area per night in a roost for maximum egg laying and living area. I am excited to see what you accomplish

Green woody cuttings from that lemon tree can be planted in pots and you could end up with many lemon trees that will start producing. If you have raw honey dip the cutting stems in the honey and plant in well-draining soil that has some wood ash mixed in. If you have access to coconuts and aloe vera plants mix the aloe gel with coconut water and use that to water the plants once per week. This will promote root growth. You can also add aloe gel to the water or use coconut water if you don't have access to both.

It would be neat if you built a Chicken Coop in a way that it was easy for you to take basket nests that you can make and be able to put them inside of the coop and take them out easily and dump them out and dip them in the water and clean them real quick and then put new nesting material in them again and put them back real easily. Some kind of way to open up one whole side of a Chicken Coop and put the row of baskets inside and then close it and lock it in place.

Always love seeing your videos! I was wondering if you are also searching for new/young orange trees, lemon trees, mango trees and coconut trees? I think it would be amazing to expand the type of crops you grow each year! It would be great to have a variety of crop trees to grow! Lots of food, you could even bring some of it home for either trade or just to enjoy with your family~ Could also practice making things out of the fruits - alcohol, spirits, juice. I believe there is already a jack fruit tree near you? And the banana trees look amazing, I can't believe they've grown so many bananas so quickly!!! I also know that dragon fruit, mango and grapes are more high end, so it might be hard to come across those in the forest. But, having those will definitely help the farm as well! Having different choices of fruit, some delicacies would be a beautiful addition! I don't know if this is possible, but growing cocoa? Making chocolate? I think that could be lots of fun too! I'm also surprised you're not growing your own sugar cane! Same thing with growing coffee and tea plants, I think those would be amazing to have on your farm! Perhaps you could even look into using silk worms to make silk? I think that would be very interesting to try as a challenge! In Short: +Orange Trees +Lemon Trees +Mango Trees +Coconut Trees +Dragon Fruits +Grapes +Cocoa +Sugar Cane +Coffee +Tea +Peppers +Watermelon +Beans +Cabbage +Cauliflower and Broccoli +Silk Worms

Hello. From my experience, you don't need to bind the chickens. Try to put them in the chickens coop in the evening, close the door and leave there for 1 or 2 days. Later, they will see it as their home, and come back inside automatically at the sunset. PS: if you're entering in rainy season, make a dry place for the chickens, maybe using palm leaves too, outdoor. The umidity could make them sicks. Sorry for my english, have a nice day. I noticed there are a lot of palm trees if you get the chance. Sugar is extracted from the cuttings under the fruit bunches that have flowers or immature fruits. Use clay to cover the wound, leave it for 1 day, then reopen the wound. bring bamboo to support the nectar in the morning and collect in the evening of the day And when collecting some, it is boiled until it becomes a thick, sticky sugar, cut dry and can be stored for a long time.

Too much chicken manure in the water will cause an algae bloom that can kill the fish. There's already a lot of fish waste in the pond. The chicken manure is probably better used on the garden. But I agree that duckweed or another water plant would improve the pond.
