For those who don't know: Cassava is a root vegetable. It is the underground part of the cassava shrub, which has the Latin name Manihot esculenta. Like potatoes and yams, it is a tuber crop. Cassava roots have a similar shape to sweet potatoes. People can also eat the leaves of the cassava plant.

#1 "primitive" channel by far. You put a lot of hard work into claiming this land! It's incredible to see how far it's come. I feel as though the other "primitive tech" channels are very unpractical and minimal in terms of the effort they put in. You, sir, on the other hand, seem very passionate about this. Keep it up!

This is where you build a sledge and drag river stones to cover your plantings with. I don't think you have to do full-on cairns, but some kind of obstacle to just digging up the roots should be put in as soon as the canes sprout.

You realy should make a compost pile. a place where you put all your organic waste to decompose, and later you gete a lot of fertilizer! also if you use charcol with the fertilizer you get after time "terra preta"! a very fruitful soil. and think about to bild "high gardens" vor vegetables. How you can bild "high gardens"? its easy, if i`am you, i would bild it in front of the house... you put 4 branches into the ground to build a square how is maybe 50 ore 60 cm high (it scoulde easy to lean across it for you), and then you build a meshwork on sidewards. after this you fill it with organic waste and charcoal and terra and its finisch. you can plant vegetables and if you wish, a whater suply line to water it from time to time.

Michael yeah, like when he made mud walls, just 4 sticks and layers of bamboo, fill with dirt and compost and done, that solves the fact that the soil near his hut is flooded mostly mud.

Everything you just wrote that he should do is useless. Leafy vegetables have very few calories, and compost is actually worse as a fertilizer than fresh green plants like he has used to fertilize his rice.
