This is a brilliant video Mike. Thankyou! It’s amazing just how much stuff you can do with only a pair of loopstyle resistance bands.I think the big thing that I also took from your video - the versatility of location and using versatility of location to keep things fresh. Sometimes I’m guilty of associating ‘mixing it up’ with GAS for exercise equipment but definitely mixing it up and exercising in the garden, in the park, even the gym…. it keeps things fresh, even using the same equipment! Keep up the great work.

You’re right on there Tom. Sometimes it’s the environment that creates the workout and not the tools. I’m definitely looking forward to working out outside in the coming months.

Right on point. This morning I copied your style and did a few exercises on a mat on my back. Much easier to complete presses due to a shoulder replacement. Due to my height 73" I only wrapped the band under one foot. I will also anticipate your tube style exercises.

Hey, man, nice to have discovered your channel. I've only trained with bands since the pandemic, (I've never set foot in a gym again, and I don't plan to). I've been watching other of your videos and I think you have great material. I'm interested in everything that has to do with bands. As I once read in a comment somewhere on KZbin: "bands are the middle finger to the fitness industry." Greetings from Argentina.

Great content. I was wondering if you have a Squat Band Belt that you can attach bands and are normally used for squats? I'd like to know if you can wear the belt upside down so the belt hooks are facing up and do overhead presses with it. This will help for those with a bad lower back/slipped disc and don't want to utilize the hole body as an anchor and just anchor from the middle chest going up. Will the belt ride up the chest or will it stay put while pressing up?
@hybridresistance10 ай бұрын
I actually am meaning to make a video on that on how you can perform those exercises with a band. But one simple solution would be to check out my vector athletics belt review as I find that is very comfortable for people with low back issues.

Is it OK to use the bands on the concrete and tree trunk directly or do you risk tearing them?
@hybridresistance8 ай бұрын
Yes, you'd be risking it a bit. More so I'd say with the tree trunk. I stood on bands plenty of times on concrete with no problems. The biggest issue is friction and sharp edges / rocks.

Just got some loop bands yesterday. I’m a bit nervous about using them because idk how far I can stretch them without them popping. How do I get over that fear?
@hybridresistance5 ай бұрын
Aside from getting a quality set and checking for cuts, the next thing to be safe is avoid exercises that anchor the bands over your head or behind you. One of the reasons I like using a footplate is because it's one of the safest ways to bands. If an accident does happen, it likely snap at you.

How many sets and reps do you suggest?

I'd say roughly a rep range of 15-30 that get you to about failure for about 2 sets is a general recommendation I personally use.

Do you always get sore from the X3 bar or the resistance bands workout? Or you get used to it?
@hybridresistance10 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say I always get sore when using bands in general. Just depends on how much weight and how much total volume I'm doing. Although I will say as I've gotten older, getting sore seems to come on more frequently for sure.

The weight part is going to be your diet, but yes I think bands can be a viable way to build muscle. I'd personally recommend using some free weights alongside though.

Thanks for this great video. Although I have been training with bands since for almost 7 years, I still learn some new stuff and I will definitely try to incorporate some of these exercises. I think that I will especially incorporate more and more exercises sitting or lying on the floor. If I may share my own experience, I would recommend you to try the eccentric overload. Bands are great for that. I don‘t do it every time for every movement, but it’s an awesome intensity technique. If you want some examples, have a look on Kassem Hanson’s channel, for instance these videos : watch?v=MmSGNsD4A8U and watch?v=PBpyq4Qa-R4 (the first week I started to implement such techniques, I had to sleep 9 hours instead of 8).
