I got a 'problem' with slapping. I slap with a more vertical thumb, but I smash my pinky against the pickguard, that hurts after some time. If I try to slap with my thumb horizontal, like you and Flea, I can't get the A slapped, because I slap the E as well. Does anyone has got tips or solutions?

Bruce Lubberdink but in all seriousness, its actually OK for your thumb to be somewhat vertical because the only reason it needs to be horizontal is if you are doing downward and upward strokes with your thumb. Les clay pool rarely does that, and flea never does it
