Agreed. His kit just sings and he's in the groove completely. There's definitely some great drumming going on out there, but a lot of it feels like it's fighting the groove somehow. This sounds so good I had to listen to it a couple times.

He is good. But he seems to drag behind the beat just a hair. I have definitely seen some better auditions. Still, I don't believe this or the ones I saw will be the ultimate winners. There are simply too many audition vids out there.

Primus has been a part of my life since I was a teenager. Tim Alexander is cut from a different cloth and out of all the people I've seen try to replicate his lazy sharpness you Sir are the only one that comes close. I feel like you are totally the chosen one Mr Mustard!

Musician and Primus fan for 30+ years. Seen at least 40 of these auditions, prolly more. Top 5 for sure and I haven't seen your main audition. In the pocket the entire time, smooth as ice and sounds great. Never judge a book by it's cover but you definitely look like someone who will fit right in, in the studio and with the band.

Thanks man, I handmade the 18", and 19" crashes on the right, the ride cymbal, and the small bells from raw b20 blanks with just a hammer/anvil and a cymbal lathe. Seriously dude, you should have this. You played this so easily. One very important but often overlooked aspect of the ability of a drummer, can be the wear spots and the one on the snare tells me that this guy is very technical and controlled. If you look at all of his skins, they have consistently sized wear rings, where the sticks are hitting the drum. That snare spot is so ridiculously small, that it tells me that this is the guy you want to get the job done flawlessly. Best of luck my friend. You have a really good chance because Les is a perfectionist, and by the looks of that snare drum, you are as well, therefore being a very good fit to this amazing band. All the best!!!🫡👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

This guy is a sick drummer, and that snare spot speaks volumes about his accuracy. However it would be a mistake to judge a drummer's ability by this metric. Stanton Moore - a fantastic and highly respected professional drummer and educator - has huge worn areas on his snare head, as he likes to play different areas of the head to get different effects - tight in the middle, ringy and high pitched at the edge etc. He states these are musical choices that help make up his personality and sound on the instrument.

This is the first song I ever heard from Primus, it was the 3rd day of school back from summer of 1990, and my best friend had just returned from San Francisco, where he went to apply for college. He bought Frizzle Fry for me and inside were a few doses of LSD for us, for my birthday present which we took in our 1st period class together. We proceeded to get signed out of every class after and meet up at his car where we sat and listened to the tape over and over again. Later a couple girlfriends let us hang out in their car where we all were ditching classes and they played the new Jane's Addiction album Ritual de lo Habitual. I hope you get the job, I've been checking out other drummers submissions for the drum throne and you're the only one that played this song, I think probably my favorite track.
