@brandonp34554 жыл бұрын
Damien Bafile Not THAT Korean war. Well, I guess TECHNICALLY that one, since it was still ongoing. That said, I don't think you can really say the US lost it - they got their asses beat, yeah, that's why you don't hear about it much compared to other wars. The Marines in particular suffered their worst defeat since the Fall of the Phillippines, and there was huge missteps across the board, that said - wars that someone wins don't technically last decades later. It was a stalemate. The US/UN went in to stop NK from overrunning the Pusan perimiter and unifying Korea - then when they found success and rolled back NK, they decided THEY would unite Korea, and rolled the NK right back up to the Yalu River - which prompted China to say "can u fucking not?" and wash over them like a tidal wave - rolling THEM back down South after which an uneasy stalemate formed. You can say "America lost the Korean war" because NOBODY won the Korean war - but NOBODY WON THE KOREAN WAR, so what would be the point of even saying it? It's both reductive to understanding the conflict, and inaccurate.

JAMAL!! Someone should do some outreach! Folks from all different musical backgrounds can benefit from doing what you do! I know I could get metal heads head banging to Oukast. Nuff said. Your channel rocks, MUSIC OUT REACH! There are just so many people out there who span the musical gamut. Oukast is probably my favorite group ever. Metallica rocks super hard. Primus is one my favorites.. And I would argue that Eminem is one of the best lyricists ever. Hell, throw in some classical. And dont forget about EDM. DEADMAU5!

Talent, jamming music and hilarious lyrics and great performers. Psalm in concert a few years back and it was incredible, one guy playing the whiskey jug jumping around the stage barefoot. The real deal.
@narcissistectomy51344 жыл бұрын
It’s actually- innocently enough - just a funny story about a beaver. Les was fishing with friends and they saw a beaver. His friend exclaimed something like “Man that is one big brown beaver!” Les liked the way it sounded, and as so many of their songs, the lyrics are just a silly story Les wrote. That’s what I heard at least....
@the8bitgrandpashow2824 жыл бұрын
Have you heard Professor Nutbutter from The Punchbowl? The story behind that is CRAZY. It’s discussed on a post in the subreddit. Basically Les went to school with this kid who’s dad owned a sweets shop and apparently experimented with dwarfism secretly, and possibly illegally. His son was a dwarf, and Les said he had puppies that never grew, but clearly were aging. His reasoning “no one likes dogs, but everyone likes puppies”. A song that I thought was about a child predator turns out to be much much more XD

man i would love to hear your thoughts on Ween. they are all over the place with their style, they did some weird experimental music, noise rock, country, pop, sea shanties... but i think a good start to introduce you might be Ween - "Freedom of '76"

Ya. Also recommend Voodoo Lady, Bananas and Blow and Piss up a Rope for some variety. There's a lot more but it starts to get pretty weird and isn't for most. I've seen them twice live and I was blown away. Really good and I'm not a super fan by any means.
