ONE OF FAVORITE SONGS. Prince was sexy, sensual , charming , funny, talented , stylish, creative, artistic , otherworldly , bad-ass, out spoken , maverick, uninhibited, ethereal , spiritual, an enigma, humanitarian , unique and a SOUL BROTHER. He will always be in my heart💜. No one will ever compare to you PRINCE💜

@@Octoberthbeyond Most of those women, if they're not light-skinned, they have long hair. Like Chilli. Her skin is dark, but look at her hair texture and length. I think the high school sweetheart you're speaking of was Ms. Kim Upsher, who passed away, I think in 2013. She was Black and Beautiful with medium length hair. I just don't think he would've married her or anyone who looked like her.
@skytraxx675 жыл бұрын
The most sense I've ever read about Prince online. He loved dark-skinned black women but the record labels and society wouldn't except that from him. If you look at his female friends from the early days to the end they were black. I use the term friend loosely here... It sadness me that people think he didn't love the black woman Obviously not listening to his lyrics. Piece and B wild

Exodus is Prince's most underrated album ever and one of THE funkiest records I've ever heard. I stripped out the segues and swapped "Cherry Cherry" for "Days of Wild" and can play that thing all the way through.
@christophertracy28072 жыл бұрын
The Rainbow Children (or Emancipation) is Prince's most underrated album - but Exodus is up there
@robertbeckerbecker1354 Жыл бұрын
@Christopher Tracy nah Emancipation is too bloated and lyrically thin. Not enough ideas on that album to hold it together. A couple great songs amongst many abysmal and forgettable tracks
@herboffour8594 Жыл бұрын
@@robertbeckerbecker1354 Agree. But also think it's kinda cool that EVERYONE has their own "ONE DISC" version of the three disc set and every single one is different. I wouldn't call it LYRICALLY thin since disc 2 in particular has some of the most heart felt lyrics Prince has ever written but would concur that the album itself is a bit thin along with some astonishingly mediocre production. A mile wide and an inch deep to an extent. But there's some GREAT stuff on there and I was elated to get SO MUCH music all at once like that. It was like a buffet that allowed me to pick and choose what I liked to eat. I always preferred MORE music, even if I didn't care for all of it.
@josebrown5961 Жыл бұрын
@@herboffour8594I wholeheartedly agree! But check this out. A “lyrically thin” Prince record is a masterpiece album for anyone else! But I have to agree, he had so much on Emancipation. The cover of “One Of Us” was nice but didn’t seem to fit. Then there was the swing number “Courtin Time.” A cute song but again why a swing song? At least he didn’t come out with his next album in a year.

Certainly his best post-1980s album.

This was one hell of a jam but this version is sublime. NPG was out of this world. The bass player's voice was made for songs like these

Prince’s voice is just so beautiful. That falsetto is beautiful and effortless, especially at the very end of 1:52 and carried through to 1:53. I’m feeling the guitar at 2:20 just like he is. Man I miss my friend. 😢💜💜

Back then sometimes I didn't understand, Why Prince will come up on the show with a silk on his face or wear a mask.....! Today all fall in place! His music is an art and He is the artist. With His Name or Without, Symbol or Sign..! He was ahead of us and out of time ! And that will never change even after He is gone.
@chj24 жыл бұрын
Had to do with him not wanting Warner Brothers to know he was releasing extra music.
@tootfromwroot2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they had an injunction against him so he couldnt perform. So he just put a mask on.

Apart from the legal issues over his name, he was trying to get away from himself, make it less about him, put NPG up front, open things up. It never entirely worked though.

That´s what I loved most about Prince. "Count The Days" is anyway a great track but the live Version makes it´s 100000x greater than the Studio-Version with the Addition of Michael B´s drumming.

Tora Tora is my Hero, he gave me a reason 2 wear a veil around my face. It's just like buckethead that glued a white palid mask and made him look different but unique. I was listening 2 madhouse 24 album with Eric Leeds, Michael B., Sonny T., Tommy Barbarella and of course Tora Tora and he plays guitar on the 24 album as 2 him playing the double bass on the Exodus album. Glad I have both of them. I don't care what people say about his mask! 2 me its not about the look, it's about the message. And the NPG is still in full effect! Peace and B Wild!

I used to have a notebook where I would write down the lyrics to Prince songs. My ex- girlfriend and I at the time were in the last stages of our relationship. She was rambling through my things and found my notebook. She happen to open the notebook to this song and swore I wrote it about breaking up with her. I had to pull out the CD and play the song to prove to her it was a Prince song. LOL! I still laugh about it years later. Truth be told, I really was counting down the days, until I move out. LOL!
