The mother of Pat Tillman, the NFL player who famously left his professional football career to enlist in the U.S. Army, after Sept. 11 has said she's shocked at ESPN's decision to present the award named after her son to Prince Harry.

PH is the founder of Invictus Games where wounded, injured veterans, including Americans, are honored, respected and given dignity. PH didn’t have to do this, but he cares and loves this cause. I love veterans especially the wounded ones. I never served, but these guys did and were injured. It’s already a sacrifice to serve the your country, but to come home wounded and injured just takes this sacrifice to another level. I see how the USA veterans have benefited from the Invictus Games. PH does deserve this award bc he does what so few can for our wounded veterans. Today it’s PH and next year it will be someone else.

Harry is the mascot of the Invictus Games. It's like oh let's give Ronald McDonald an award for making a difference in the fast food industry. Dude, doesn't do anything, but promote it. Give it to the ones who are actually behind the scenes of the Invictus Games. Those are the real ones deserving the award, not his "royal" mascot.
