In many ways it's incredibly important that the person representing the monarchy is also someone who is very well liked by the majority of people. And that actually means that it is sort of a problem that people don't really care about Charles. I don't mind him, but I also don't practically like him. I think that goes for many more. The monarchy does actually NEED likable representatives, otherwise they will not be able to survive. Everything is about image in the end and no one can tell me that it wouldn't have been much smarter for them to skip over Charles and go straight to William and Kate...

We know that the Sussexes received their invitation to the Coronation at the beginning of March, and as they themselves proclaimed. For Mr. Scobie to suggest that Buckingham Palace kept them waiting, questioning if they would receive an invitation, is disingenuous at best.

Ah yes, the home Queen Elizabeth II gave them a 75 year lease on as a gift. They no longer have it. When they left, it was not supposed to be a permanent move and they would have used it as their UK base when they resumed or carried out any royal duties or visited for family events. Charles did extend access until the coronation weekend but they won’t have it after that. I hope they got the rent back that they paid in advance though. If that bothers you, ask yourself; Why does William need four houses?

The " stone" under the thrown does NOT go back to 1066. It's called the stone of Scone and it was the stone on which all the Scottish kings were crowned. It was taken from Scotland during the reign of King Edward I, the " hammer of the Scots" It was returned to Scotland during the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II. It was brought back to the Abby for the coronation. Some legends say it is the pillow of Jacob from the Bible.
