This is the personality I didn't know Prince had until later years. He finally talked more publicly after being so low key for years. Once you listen to him talk you learn quickly how musically educated he was and why he was so gifted with the influence of musicians he grew up listening too.

Henri Never mind I’m English and our humour is sarcastic😂 You are over analysing this joke. Prince changed his name to no name..he was a love symbol. The media started calling Prince TAFKAP amongst other names like Squiggle. Prince got fed up with the constant piss taking and criticism of the media, hence his record Billy Jack Bitch. The joke here is she calls him Taffy..short for TAFKAP...Prince jokingly replies Goodnight and gets up to leave. He says you know what this rhymes with, she says No and he says Goodnight....that’s the punchline..it doesn’t rhyme. It’s got nothing to do with a racial connotation

Henri Never mind Let me just say - Firstly I am not racist, I have very close black friends and I love Prince. I am from the UK and we use sarcasm in a friendly humoured way. In the USA the politicians use sarcasm but in an arrogant superior way. But remember Prince was older and wiser here, and he only went on chat shows where he liked the host or hostess. The conversation between him and this presenter has nothing to do with race. It’s the presenter joking with Prince about him being called TAFKAP which was a name made up by the media. Basically she calls him Taffy and he says Goodnight..in other words he’s off the show if she calls him this again..it’s just a joke about the love symbol. No normal human being thinks black people are slaves in the UK where I live
