Actually, Prince locked himself in his house for 4 days when Michael passed. He was deeply hurt. It was a friendly rivalry. Prince used to go to Havenhurst all the time and visit the Jacksons. I think the media wanted them to not like each other, and that wasn’t the case. Neither one out of their mouths said I don’t like you. But I think they let it run tho for publicity.

Exactly, Michael's mother said Prince talk to her for hours when Michael passed away, his band did a interview where they said they were rehearsaling and when he heard the news rehearsal was over, it was so quiet you could here a pin drop, they had to give 100 yards. They both fed off of each other, Prince came to see the open night of the Making of Thriller and Michael came to see the opening night of Purple Rain, to genius gone but will always be remembered.

@@AC-mp7cx now I’m a MJ fan and they were BOTH talented in different ways. Both amazing performers. MJ an amazingly talented dancer and entertainer. But Prince was an extremely talented musician playing more than 20 instruments and penning huge hits for other artists. Also the more famous someone is doesnt necessarily mean they are more talented. MJ had been a star since he was 5 so yes, it would make sense he had more fame. Someone wise told me you don’t have to put others down to uplift someone. Prince was supposed to be on the song “Bad”. He almost agreed until he heard the lyrics Michael wanted him to sing and then he declined. They had very different personalities and ways about how to make music. Prince couldn’t be apart of something he didn’t believe in. The same thing happened with “We Are The World”. MJ co-wrote the sing with Quincy Jones. Michael wanted Prince in it, but Prince hated the lyrics. He liked the idea behind the song but just thought it was a terribly written song. So he declined.

The negative influences of this world are designed to make our heart sick through emotional & physical pain resulting in a given person turning to music as one source of comfort to the body. The painful realty of this existence gives rise to the birth of music in two forms, earthly & HEAVENLY. Earthly music speaks to the experiences of this world through the singer-song writer’s eyes. Oftentimes drug use (i.e. alcohol, smokes, marijuana, cocaine, opioids, benzos and propofol to name a few) is intertwined with the survival of an artist to deal with the pressure of performing in order to stay relevant in the music industry, and to serve as fuel for creativity. As a result, music celebrities develop a tendency to sin against their body, through excessive drug use, for not measuring up to or to satisfy the demands of their music. Any earthly joy they experience is darkened by the heavy burden of performing and the loss of privacy. The end users of their music become fans because the lyrics are relatable and the sound of the singer’s voice & rhythm helps them cope with the pains of this reality. Unfortunately, this band aid approach is only a time out from the hurt and in the meantime we are fortifying its wall with painful memories waiting in line. Who can save us from wounds that are silent, wordless and cruel all the while tearing us apart inch by inch on the inside, which could radically accelerate the demise of the human body? I will use caps as emphasis to show the honest reverence for GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY when writing about HEAVENLY music in the paragraphs below. That INVINCIBLE DIVINE be our HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO THROUGH HIS SON’S MISSION HAS INSPIRED believers to write songs that sing of HIS LIFE GIVING LOVE to deal with emotional & physical pain, economic instability, mortality and the emotional instability of others with the motive of winning over souls for HIS KINGDOM. The melody & theme of HEAVENLY music is hateful and intolerable to the devil, a spirit which causes us to be blinded of the effects of sin and is responsible for the woes of this world such as melancholy, anguish, tribulation and trial. These agitations of the soul create a heavy burden for the lost and could lead him or her to be hostile of songs that sing about GOD’S GLORY. This makes it clear that we cannot win the spiritual battle by our own strength. Moreover, on earth the devil has no equal. GOD has provided us with the ONE WHO CAN AND WILL LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt from a given sinner's heart if he or she (through faith) would open their understanding to Psalms (starting with the focus on Psalms 51:1-10 KJV), and hymns/songs giving praise to HIM for the purpose of being persuaded, converted and healed by the HOLY SPIRIT from within by transforming your body/temple into a meeting place for you and the KING OF THE AGES to commune as friends through the born again experience (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life). It is only here that the fears of tomorrow will diminish, the blessed assurance is given that you are HIS and HE LIVES. Once the blessed assurance is known in prayer (through the confession of wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, combine with admitting that JESUS CHRIST is LORD and believing in one’s heart that GOD raised HIM from the dead to deliver us from sin's guilt) the world can never take it away because the world didn’t give it to you.

@Ruth Esther He wore the heels because he was on stage. He never let his height stop from doing anything. If you check youtube you'll find loads of stories of Prince donating to charities and in many cases he insisted that he was not named as a condition of receiving the money. An egotist would have told everyone like when MJ had the details of his donations published in a best selling children's book. Prince had an act on stage as did MJ. Prince was an All-State basketball player, athlete, a womanizer, highly competitive. Aside from the Paisley, and the act, he was a real man's man. Michael was the opposite. The crazy part is, Prince and MJ were friends behind the scenes. Prince had invited MJ backstage that night after the show. No one talked about it but his back up singer told the story. Prince wanted them to MJ, so he had MJ to come to his dressing room and the two hugged shook hands and Prince let the band meet him and introduce him was 'The hardest working man in show biz' When Prince found out about MJ death he locked himself in his room for weeks, then after his show he called Tavis Smiley over for a talk and cried his eyes out venting for 3 hours about the love and respect he had for MJ. But the media don't wana talk about that, since they need a good story.

Miles Davis said that Prince is the best musician of the 80's. If you know who Miles was you know what this means. Some say that Jazz has improved until Miles lived, anything after that is repetition. I love Prince in those moments when he plays jazz, blues or rock because that will show you that he was a great musician. And I love when there is a good cover of his songs, because that shows that he was a great songwriter too. MJ was a great showman. He wrote 3 out of 10 songs on Off the Wall and 4 out of 10 on Thriller. He was 29 by the time he released Bad where he was the main songwriter. But I'm sure that much more people on Earth know who he was than who Prince was.

prince and michael did have a rivalry, because they both were incredibly talented. but they both looked up to one another. what the press wants everyone to think is that they hated each other they were always tryna one up one another and they were never friends. that was not the case at all. prince was devastated (like everyone) when michael passed away and when he was being interviewed on a talk show one time flash cards of different names of people would be held up and he would have to say the first word that came to mind. michaels name popped up and immediately the word that came out of princes mouth was..”genius”. you see the two actually really respected and liked one another. they did have a rivalry because they both we’re stupid talented but they genuinely didn’t hate each other like most people think. also prince was a very comedic guy so he would make fun of michael many instances all in good heart and michael would not take offense to much. RIP to both those musical geniuses we all miss you forever. 😢❤

People at that time, let's say the breakdancing age wanted like an energy child from Disneyland that could slide around and sing,... although break dancers at that time could actually easily beat MJ. The whole basic world fell in with that somehow. They did not investigate Prince most sexual music , religious, politics, and all genres. Disco, waltzes, funk, soul, Rock, pop rap, even sounding country. Everything done by one man. 4 movies, and 48 albums of it. I don't know if people had kid mentality, or wer blind or dumb...
