I was devastated as you we're when I heard about his sudden passing; but we know that there are two things that remind us that he is with us, in spirit: his music, purple, his signature color.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I remember first seeing Prince on MTV and my brother and I were transfixed..he was wearing these heels and had this creative, this mystifying and beautiful fashion sense and the way he moved and his songs were amazing. I like it when performers get dressed to perform, not these grunge tee shirts and jeans...he had a great costume sense. My favorite is still Raspberry Beret and of course, Purple Rain. When Doves Cry is pure genius. RB was written by Lisa and Wendy--who are now married to each other. They were both uber talented. He had the most diverse band at a time when nobody was even thinking of this. He launched careers of others and wrote many songs for others. I have always been impressed by how he featured female talent in a major way, from Sheila E, to Wendy and Lisa and other women who played in his band. "Dripping with sex.." well yeah...All Tipper Gore and her censoring organization was to help sell more of Prince's albums. He is the best artist to come out of the 1980s. RIP, he contributed so much and will always be missed. I recently heard Etta James do a version of Purple Rain, she did a great cover. It is an iconic song that will be sustain.

Today, I have finally cried. It took a long time for me to realize why I had to just allow myself to just cry. If it were not for Prince, I would have always believed that God was just a fairy tale. I would have stayed a junkie. I would never have had two sons. I would have never been able to make music. Never. Thank you, Prince Roger Nelson, for showing the world a Black Man.... Word up.... Thank you..... And by the way, a lot of the those people who were at that Rolling Stones show in LA IN 82, are at a loss today because of your passing. Just like me....

Prince was definitely inspired by James brown. Not Elvis. I can tell through some of his dance moves. Prince was soo incredibly talented. He embodied the definition of real music 🎶💜💜💜

I promise I just typed that lol. He definitely never ever mentioned Elvis smh. Whoever Bob is, he obviously hasn’t got a clue about Prince.

Bob Cavallo was on Prince’s management team from ‘79 to ‘89 and aided Prince in putting his many unique dreams into action. He had the full freedom to express himself with Bob’s help and that he did. He also was one of the Producers of Purple Rain (the movie). Prince liked him.

His dancing idol was James Brown, but he wanted to be Elvis in a sense of outrageousness and controversy. He said that pop music if his time lacked danger, that nobody was sneaking to those forbidden concerts, like in Elvis' times. Just think about it: as long as your parents are somehow liberal, you can let them know that you listen to Michael Jackson but Prince? Unless they're Prince fans themselves, no way in hell.

Prince actually created, arranged, wrote and produces his own 🎶🎼 He barely sampled anyone else’s, because he loved beyond creative and doing things his way. Elvis was a culture vulture who has stolen lots of music from other black artist. Stop putting them in the same category. It’s disrespectful to Prince and all of his hard work.

This dude said “ He wanted to be Elvis” lol. They should’ve edited that part out because, i’am a Prince historian and I’ve never ever heard him reference Elvis as an Influencer. James Brown, Sly and the family stone, Joni Mitchell, Carlos Santa etc etc but… Never Elvis lol

the new generation don't know who he is due to his selfishness of not allowing his videos on KZbin
@mellodee1238 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you know people that have bootleg copies of his songs. People wanted to emulate his style. He made it hard for them to do it. They had to come up with their own style. They had to work for it. That man's worth over 300 million. IDK.....sounds like he won all away around. RIP

Prince Was Music Made Manifest In Flesh, A Prophet, A Dove, A Sign O' the Time, 2 say anything less than is disappointing & a clear indication 2 one's ignorance, blindness, & deafness. In other words...Dark.
@dangelooliver40865 жыл бұрын
Why is this white dude lying about prince asking him if he needed to learn to rap!? Prinnce was Prince and everyone wanted to be like him, even white people. He was a black artist with a perm that was the best ever at what he did. Elvis wasn't on the same level as he and MJ. Elvis ripped alot of black musicians off , little Richard, Chuck Barry, fats Domino. James Brown was to smart to have them ripp him off.
