We drove to LA Forum (historical name) every other weekend and experienced 3 different shows. The tickets were $25 and every show's encore started with Purple Rain. Looking around us there were people from all over this beautiful Blue Planet. Everyone felt the presence of something holy and uniting. The tears in our eyes spoke to the experience of a greater truth. The power of music fully realized by a man who weaved our spiritual reality together, if only for a few fleeting moments.

Sheila E is one of the few musicians that could play as hard as Prince on instruments he didn’t know anything about. Unlike base, drums, piano, guitar, all kinds of shakers, etc., where he could teach, Congas, and timbales where a mystery to him. That’s why he always gave her so much playing space. He is a genius, for sure

I saw Prince two nights in a row at The Forum in Inglewood, Cali on this tour in '85. He sold out The Forum six nights in a row. You know how big you have to be to pull that off? Amazing show. To this day it has to be one of my top five concerts. It was great to see someone so talented, who worked so hard, who dedicated their life to music, actually make it. I have always had total respect for His Royal Badness. What a talent. I think he will be held in the same regard in much the way Beethoven and Mozart are a hundred years from now.

Today’s the sixth anniversary of his tragic death, but I’m here jamming to his funkiest sermon ever! “I Would Die 4 U” is Prince sharing the Gospel over a frizzy synth-funk groove without sounding preachy: 1st verse (God); 2nd verse (Jesus); 3rd verse (Holy Spirit). Genius! I’m grateful that I witnessed a musical genius take the rule book, rewrite it, and rip it to shreds before he strutted into the afterworld in his trademark heels. #RIPPrince

The great thing about Prince is that he got better with time. He was always amazing, but pushed himself to be the best version of himself he could be. Just to see the growth from the humble "I Wanna Be Your Lover" to the lush and extravagant "Diamonds and Pearls" is absolutely breathtaking and genius. We love and miss you, Prince 🕊💜

This song is amazing and whoever saw him live was blessed. Him and Michael Jackson were in a music class of their own. The Two best artists of my life time
@brokl26 Жыл бұрын
I kind of disagree a bit about Prince and Michael being in a class together. Michael wrote some iconic tunes and was a fantastic entertainer with a great vocal sound. I love Michael. But Prince was alone in his class. And I say this not to diminish Michael in any way. Prince wrote, played so many instruments and was also a great entertainer. Prince’s song catalogue was all over the place. Michael was a huge trend setter as well as an unstoppable juggernaut. But Prince was revered by fellow musicians for his ability as a player of instruments and that’s why I, in my own opinion keep Prince in a class of his own. I do respect your opinion because I understand it. I just differ. Or, I might be an idiot

@@brokl26 if you read Stephen's comment, it said Prince and MJ were in a music class of their own. As in their own class not in the same class.

Prince really inspired a lot of people. I started off loving the drums, still do, but Prince was the one who got me into the Guitar. I even rock the Heels and give not a care in the world what people think. Prince = Magnificent.💜

Jesus, the man had no boundaries... I saw him. At Earl's Court in 1992 and it was a life-changing moment. They switched the house lights one when everyone had left the arena... He came back on!!! 000's of People... piling back into Earl's court... it was insane

Years later she got to experience/saw and hear him..which turned out to be... his last concert in Brisbane Qld Australia...Full Circle life stuff.!!!!!! Thank you Prince for being you. xxx
