@Dante Whitley Yes, there are probably a handful that do. It's still far FAR less than the amount that did pre-millennium. It should also be noted that Prince was far from being a Pop Star. Not only did he write his own music and lyrics, he wrote for pop stars who weren't nearly as talented. His music spans many genres beyond just pop music. He also wrote for movies and television commercials. He had his hand in the growth of several performers and groups, far more that pop artists in any era.

Can we just sit and listen to Prince “making each and every guitar he’s ever played “TALK”. Such Finesse. Prince was tired, the industry will rob your soul of happiness, that’s why he never owned a cellular phone. Low key and very private and that’s whether you’re a celebrity or not. Some thats the only way to fine peace, solitude and solidarity. He wrote that song...Chaka and Prince were very close friends. We have lost some of the greatest legends in the music industry, but this is not our home we’re just passing through this thing called “life”. Make sweet beautiful memorable memories. Be happy. Forgive. Love. Laugh. Live because “Time” is something that you’ll never get back... ..and if you’re reading this tell someone today that you love them because one day God will need them back. Love Paula ♥️

The Song "Sweet Thing" was actually co-written by Chaka Khan and Tony Maiden, who were bandmates of the Funk and R & B band, Rufus. The song was written for Chaka's then husband, Richard Holland. Rufus originally recorded the song in 1975. Prince learned to play the song as a teenager, being such a huge fan of the group. Of course years later and having the opportunity to work with Chaka directly several times, Prince put his stamp on the song without changing the essence. Regardless, a beautiful rendition, where Prince and his soulful musicianship are deeply missed. 💜

@roderickhorton78454 жыл бұрын
We see the introduction Prince gives...Then the Bass player gives us two notes just after 0:05 to let you know of his presence without being overbearing. Prince and the other teases the audience and build up for Chaka Khan's intro. This is why you must study technique and delivery if you are into music and or video and productions. Now notice the semi-Carribean feel and classic Chaka in her element. Just wait till she hits the high notes at 4:08, but she is in multiple elements Classic Chaka and a little scat. Listen to keyboardist at 0:56. Prince probably was completely responsible for this arrangement or treatment of this classic, he stayed within the framework of the original so it wouldn't be toooooo different. Listen to the classic hits (signature) of the original song when they going or singing Sweet Thing. This is why you have to be flexible. Notice the swell after Chaka's intro. notice how Prince steps in and out of the shadows during the performance. you must learn to part of the entire experience. This is classic Chaka being Chaka. Sit back and enjoy. Notice how Prince has parts on the Guitar that compliment Chaka, we know Prince can show out, but that's not what it is about. Maybe towards the end of the song he shows out a little, nice licks here and there nothing overbearing or outlandish. Everything is smooth and tightly wound together.
