What a pity she enjoys chasing terrified foxes to exhaustion and then watching as they get ripped to pieces. She was nasty to Diana - I read Diana's book. I also watch The Crown. She is portrayed as cold and unfeeling.

@@joyph4910 Yes I can expect them to be warm and nurturing if they were kind, normal human beings. Is that too much to ask? Regarding Charles cheating, well there were a number of factors here. Firstly, the requirement for his future bride was that she had to be a virgin. He had fallen in love with Camilla who was not a virgin and therefore deemed unsuitable. Despite the fact that times had changed, the public expected a fairytale. So the royal family found a virgin from a suitable background. After Diana married Charles and had her suspicions, the rest of the royals dismissed it, saying Charles and Camilla were simply good friends. They treated Diana like she was going mad. Diana only found out for certain about Charles and Camilla when she found a cache of letters between the two which made it clear they were having an affair and in love. After that she wanted out. Charles has said that he had thought that Diana understood 'the rules'. The rules being that royal men were allowed to have affairs. Prince Phillip is rumoured to have had affairs throughout his marriage to the queen. These were diversions from the tedium of his role, as was portrayed in The Crown. The difference here was that Charles was already deeply in love with Camilla. Diana was just there to provide an heir and a spare and be a clothes horse to keep the public happy. The royals expected her to just put up with this. She could not. After all, Anne, it seems, did not want to continue trapped in a loveless marriage and soon moved on.

@@susangavaghan let me put it simply, they're not normal human beings, they've grown up being treated as superior than us average people, if you are expecting them to treat any outsiders with a warm welcome, you'd be disappointed. How they treated Diana was fcked up, I absolutely agree, none of them made an effort to get to know her, being busy with royal duties and all. They thought without her knowing it'd make her happy, so the marriage could stand. But the marriage was unsalvageable, her mental health was deteriorating. Cheating on both sides. I would also like to note, she wasn't at all clueless throughout the whole thing, charles previously dated her sister. She came from an aristocratic background, she knew she was a perfect candidate and she wanted to be part of the family and on the spotlight. But I agree they should've let Charles choose who he wants to marry.

The Princess Royal was doing so much more than Diana Spencer, getting no publicity or acclaim for it. People in the US were fed a diet of misinformation on the saintly Diana unfortunately. Good to know that Prince William and Catherine show so much public affection for Prince Charles. The poor man went through hell married to that woman. Wonderful that he's had these years of happiness. Bye now.

I believe thst people love her just for her looks! I mean, Mother Theresa died just after Diana but she is now forgotten! That just shows the fickleness of human beings!!
